Well, it seems that Apple is continuing the leap from selling the iPhone at just their own stores and AT&T locations to selling the device at a plethora of retailers.

The latest retailer to secure the iPhone for their inventory is RadioShack The Shack which will have the iPhone 3G and 3GS at Dallas-Forth Worth and New York City stores towards the end of this month.

So, if you want to pick up Apple’s flagship handset you now have another location to do so at.

A few days ago we let you in on some rumors that RadioShack was gearing up to completely rebrand their retail stores as The Shack. Well today a few promotional items featuring the transition have emerged.

As you can see above, they are evidentally hyping up the name change before thery get around to actually changing the branding on their stores. Furthermore, they have lauched a countdown website for “The Shack Summer Netogether” that is happening from August 6th - 8th.

Will calling themselves The Shack help bring Radio Shack to greatness? Only time will tell.

For some reason Radio Shack is going through some rebranding process. The company shall not be known as Radio Shack anymore. Instead we’ll have to call it The Shack. Well actually Radio Shack will not change its name but only the brand image. But everyone that already got used to going to Radio Shack stores for various gadgets will keep calling it Radio Shack long after the brand change. What’s next? Could Best Buy be called The Buy? Or Circuit City, The City?
