Just yesterday we saw a GSM Palm Pre running on O2 Germany soothing the wounds of anyone who doubted the device’s European presence. Today, the Spanish carrier Telefonica has announced that they will be getting the webOS powered phone on October 14th.
According to Engadget, the device will range in prices of 0-219 depending on what contract. The only way to get the Pre for free is to pay 60 worth of voice in addition to 15 worth of voice.
So again, Palm Pre on Telefonica October 14th, got it?

There must be a reason people decide to steal stuff. It must have something to do with not being smart enough to get a regular job. No offense, but I’m about to back those words with some solid proof. This thieves’ story comes all the way from Mexico! The thieves entered a Telefonica Movistar store and stole only replica phones which are basically worth nothing. In fact, these “smart” thieves have overlooked the real phones and the more important real cash which were located in a different part of the shop.
Well now we heard them all folks! The moral of the story, don’t steal if you’re not up to the challenge. As a matter of fact, don’t steal at all!

The GSM Palm Pre is closing in and Europeans will finally be able to purchase it. Spanish carrier Movistar will launch the new Palm phone from the looks of this press photo. Considering that Movistar is owned by Telefonica, and Telefonica signed an exclusivity agreement with Palm, we were expecting it to launch the Pre in Spain, just like O2 will launch it in the UK. Let’s home that the phone will be available sooner rather than later. The press release says that:
Palm Pre is scheduled to be available initially in the UK, Ireland and Germany exclusively on the O2 network, and in Spain exclusively on the Movistar network, in time for the holidays.
What does that “in time for the holidays” mean actually? We’ll be looking forward for some prices and some clear release dates and we’ll get back to you once we get them

We don’t have all the details yet but it looks like Telefonica has scored the deal of the year with Palm. The Spanish carrier will bring the Pre to Spain this year but the deal doesn’t stop there. The carrier also operates in the UK as O2 and in Latin America as Movistar. That means Telefonica will have quite a market to sell the Pre to. What say you Vodafone? Are you going to get the Pre too?

While other manufacturers are delaying Android handsets, HTC has quietly started to send its HTC Dream around the world. This time is Spain who’s going to get the first Android device. Telefonica will launch the handset as the Dream and have it slightly customized. The phone will cost anywhere from 0 to 199 Euro, depending on the plan that you choose and your current subscriber status. All that will probably happen soon although Telefonica hasn’t announced any official dates yet.
