Yesterday, it was made known that the Garmin-Asus nuvifone M20 was made available for purchase in Taiwan with no solid word on a worldwide launch. However, if recent reports are to be believed the two devices may be making their way onto the US carrier AT&T at some point in the future.
News comes to us from Pocket-lint who was on hand at the M20 Taiwanese launch and have quoted a Garmin-Asus rep to have said “the M20 is destined for AT&T in the U.S.”.
Unfortunately, that’s all the info we were given but I think it’s safe to say we will definitely see the device drop on AT&T in the coming months.

Back in February we notified you of a Garmin-Asus branded handset called the nuvifone M20. At that time there was no word of US availability and today, that remains the same.
The nuvifone M20 has, however, hit Taiwanese carrier Chunghwa and is to feature Windows Mobile, a VGA display, 3MP camera, HSDPA and all sorts of turn-by-turn GPS features (hey, it is Garmin, after all).
Despite its mediocracy, I’m sure at least a handful of American consumers would take to it if/when Garmin and Asus get around to releasing it here.

Keeping in line with the April release date in Europe, HTC has now announced that the Touch Diamond2 will land on Taiwanese soil around the same time in the second half of April 2009. We have gone over the specs many times now but for the unaware, the Touch Diamond2 is a followup to HTC’s hugely successful Touch Diamond and has a gorgeous 3.2-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera, GPS receiver, WiFi, and runs Windows Mobile 6.1 with TouchFLO 3D UI on top. It is powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm processor aided by 512MB ROM and 288MB of RAM.
As of now, the HTC Touch Diamond2 will retail for a suggested price of NT$21,900 (approx. $647) when it appears in Taiwan later this month, which is similar to the rumored $640+ price tag for the European market.

Taiwan-based electronics normally don’t get much attention. The brands they carry are virtually unknown. But you may be surprised at how some of these eye-popping gadgets gain attention when a familiar brand opts to carry them under their wing.
One gadget worth checking out is the Winmate Tablet PC V280. This PC tablet sports an elegant, practical design and aluminum-magnesium alloy construction with ports that are individually sealed with protective rubber plugs.
Features:
• 10.4-inch SVGA (800 x 600 pixel) display
• 4-wire resistive touch-screen
• Three (3) USB 2.0 ports
• RS232 connector
• Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 jack
• Microphone
• Headphone Jacks
These are perfect PC tablets that companies can use for industrial operations. A worthy investment to raise the level of business and technology common these days.

If China is not quite ready for the iPhone 3G well then Taiwan is. Chunghwa Telecom is the carrier which has reached an agreement with Apple and it will sell the phone this December. The carrier is the largest in Taiwan so getting the iPhone must have been inevitable.
We don’t have all the hot prices and plans but until now an 8GB model was sold anywhere from $667 to $755. Those were of course unofficially imported handsets.

The diamond design on the back isn’t the only thing this pared down P3702 Touch Diamond is losing as the 192MB of RAM found on the original P3700 Touch Diamond has also been cut down to 128MB. How this will affect the device’s video capabilities remains to be seen, as 64MB of that RAM had been off set for the dedicated video accelerator on the original device. Still, a smoother, rounded package for this smooth player is most welcome, but Taiwan seems to be the only place favored for now by HTC. The rest of the specs will remain the same with a 3.2 megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and that gorgeous 2.8 inch VGA display.
