All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

If USB 2.0 is still a big part of your present day, start thinking about the future because USB 3.0 will become universal in a matter of… year or two. In case you don’t know, with USB 3.0 technology in a flash drive the speeds are much faster and you can transfer files up to 200MB per second, or even better if you optimize the system with a special USB Attached SCSI driver.

As you can imagine, all the portable drives can still work in USB 2.0 ports which work at 60MB per second. For now there is no information about the prices of the new Super Talent USB 3.0 flash drives, but the capacities include 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, with a release date set for December 2009.

Super Talent Technology is a leading manufacturer of Flash storage and DRAM memory modules and it has just announced a new line of UltraDrive solid state drives that are twice as fast as the world’s speediest SATA hard drives.

The LE has been designed exclusively for enterprise servers and data centers where out of the ordinary performances and reliability must be at their utmost superlative. The UltraDrive supports very high speeds and reads/writes at a speed of 230/170 MB per second. You can get it at different capacities: 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. The ME version which will work with your SATA-II notebooks, has a read/write speed of 200/160MBps and it will be available in sizes ranging from 16GB to 256GB.

Super Talent Chief Operating Officer, Mr. C.H. Lee said:

The UltraDrive LE represents a quantum leap forward in storage performance that is simply staggering. It excels in every metric that’s relevant to data centers: sequential and random read and write speeds, transaction rates and access and seek times. It also has a considerable advantage over 10,000 RPM hard drives in power consumption and MTBF. This product sets a new standard in enterprise storage
