As you are well aware by now, the Tour has been launched by both Sprint and Verizon on the same day. And Verizon seems to be the moral winner of this direct duel. Not only didn’t Sprint make the Tour available for pre-order, but it also failed to please every customer that walked into a store looking for a new Berry.
Sprint didn’t have enough Tour units to go around and this didn’t go unnoticed. According to Sprint’s twitter account, the carrier has received two shipments from RIM which means that all those of you that couldn’t walk out a store with a Tour in your hand can now return to get it. Of course if you went to a Verizon store instead then you don’t really care about Sprint’s new Tour stock.

What, you didn’t expect it to last much longer than that did you? Despite it’s high almost-$500-price the buyers have managed to completely exhaust Amazon’s entire stock of the Kindle DX.
However, those looking to get their hands on the device should make note that its product listing page states that it will be back in stock on June 17th.
How many devices they are going to have, we have no idea, but if you want to give yourself the greatest possibility of securing one on June 17th, order it now.
Oh yeah, Amazon also subtly notes that their smaller device, the Kindle 2, is in stock and ready to ship.

Now, if the above list actually shows projected Best Buy’s stock of the Palm Pre, there are going to be some serious shortages.
Said list was posted up over at everythingpre by a poster by the name of atlanta. This user claims this list was given to them by a friend and shows how many Palm Pres were ordered by various Best Buys.
Now, if this is true why did so many stores order such a small amount of the devices? Wouldn’t they expect at least more than 2 buyers on its launch date? What about the store that didn’t order any? Smells fishy to me.

The thought of Best Buy receiving a mere 4 Palm Pre’s per store is quite mindboggling but luckily Sprint has stepped in to comfort us a bit.
The Boy Genius Report has quoted the wireless carrier as saying:
At Sprint, we’re excited by the response to the Palm Pre, but what’s been posted is pure speculation. Because of the Pre’s popularity, it’s likely that initially we won’t be able to keep up with the demand for the device. If that happens, we will work diligently to ensure that everyone who wants a Pre can get one as soon as possible.
So yeah, don’t expect the Palm Pre to sell out like Nintendo’s Wii did when it first hit store shelves but chances are if you’re looking to purchase this phone you’ll probably have to do some shopping around.
