Verizon has announced a new data USB stick, the USB1000 which promises to bring you global data to your laptop. What does that mean exactly? Well the USB1000 relies on EV-DO Rev. A for getting you online while you’re in the USA and triband HSPA for delivering the same speedy Internet connection for when you’re outside of the country. The new toy costs $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a contract. What’s more important is the contract itself here. Verizon will offer you 5GB of traffic of traffic in the USA and Canada and 100/200MB of roaming data. What’s the price? $129.99 to $219.99 per month depending on what you choose!

Nokia has launched its CS-10 Internet Stick HSPA USB model at the beginning of the month and now it’s ready to have it shipped at the beginning of the year.
Nokia’s Tapio Markki, vice president for hardware platform components said:
Leveraging these capabilities, we believe we are well-positioned to become one of the winning providers for HSPA modem solutions. The market for HSPA modems is expected to grow very rapidly during the coming years.
The Internet Stick will be sold in Europe at the beginning and other markets will follow. It uses both 850MHz and 2100MHz for 3G HSPA and it will get you download speeds of 7.2Mbps and upload speeds of 2.0Mbps. How much will it cost? Talk about that with your wireless service provider starting this January.

This isn’t the usual odd-looking USB stick which I tend to show you folks. This is an HP stick which secretly wants to be a floppy drive. But since practically no one uses floppy drives, HP decided to give this little USB drive some special abilities. Since some BIOS updates require a floppy disk, this HP might come in handy since it emulates the floppy disk all together. The device is available in 256MB for $49 or in 1GB for $79. I can’t understand the 256MB thing. Who’s still using such a stick?
