All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

Samsung has big plans for its upcoming smartphones. The company took advantage of the sixth Samsung Mobile Solutions Forum in Taipei to reveal some of its upcoming mobile technology: 1GHz low power processors, OneDRAM, 512MB PRAM, display drivers with capacitive integration and a 5-megapixel / 1080 SoC camera. Now imagine a phone wearing all that! All it needs is an Android OS with some kind of customize UI on top and the phone should definitely be a hit.

The new 1GHz processors come with 512KB L2 cache and they support 3D gaming and 1080p output at 30fps via HDMI 1.3. Not bad at all for a phone! The OneDRAM memory chipset will get you transfer speeds of up to 1.3GBps and that 512MB of PRAM will certainly handle all your mobile needs. Last, but not least, we have a new camera, a 5-megapixel CMOS image sensor that’s coming together with an image signal processor on a chip. The system-on-chip camera will be ready to record video at 1080p at 30fps. Doesn’t this all sound exciting? We should see all these features in 2010 phones as the new components will be ready for mass production starting with the first quarter of the year.

The company built a new ARM processor able to deal with ultra-wideband technology, a wired USB interface and a memory controller able to send data via wireless. The speed is impressive too as Samsung says the new processor will be able to transfer a 700MB mobile movie in less than a minute. The processor will offer us speeds of up to 120Mbps which is impressive. And customers are definitely lined-up at Samsung’s doors as production will start in spring.
