AT&T is apparently going to launch a smartbook soon. The device is made by Lenovo and it’s going to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. There are no specs available at this point as the smartbook in question has been showcased by CEO Paul Jacobs during an investor meeting in New York. Neither Lenovo nor AT&T cared to comment on the device but we’re probably going to see the smartbook at CES 2010 in just under two months from now.
The question is do we really need smartbooks too? We have smartphones, there are plenty of netbooks to go around and let’s not forget that the tablets are coming. What do you say?

Ever since the HTC HD2 first appeared as the HTC Leo last month Windows Mobile fans have anxiously awaited the device for its large touch screen and 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
Unfortunately you still can’t pick it up, but you can watch it get unboxed in the above video. But be warned, it’s a beautiful device and if you already can’t wait for it, watching it get unboxed will probably make that wait even harder.

Today, we have word that this device is to be called the HTC Passion and will hit Verizon towards the end of this year and feature a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
Unfortunately, that’s all we know for now but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

A few days ago we let you know that the HTC HD2 would be available unlocked in the UK for around $740. Well, not only is that a steep price but it gives us no hint to North American availability.
However, the above image has hit the web that lets us know that the HD2 is on its way to T-Mobile with its 4.3-inch touch screen and Snapdragon processor.
Is this image to be believed?

Rumors of the HTC Touch HD2 have been floating around for some time now but they have been more focused on the software side of things and not what we can expect to see under the hood.
Today, further rumors have surfaced that give us a look at the specs which are a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, 7.2Mbps HSPA, a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen, FM radio, 5MP camera, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio out jack.
Unfortunately, there aren’t any solid dates for when we will be seeing the HTC Touch HD2 but rumor has it we will be seeing the device hit T-Mobile UK at some point in the non-too-distant future.

We knew the 1GHz Snadragon processor would work wonders, but we never expected it to be 300% better than the Touch HD in the graphics area. Of course, the ginormous capacitive touchscreen display is a lot of help along with its other unbelievable specs, but with 1822% increase on a single test, we are looking at one wild stallion, people! We at MobileWhack can’t wait to get our hands on this superphone when it is scheduled to drop in October, but we are sure you guys can’t wait too. If a recent Engadget tipster is to be believed we may be seeing the 4.3-inch touchscreen touting HTC Leo be made available for O2 UK on October 12th as the HTC HD2.
Now, for those of you not paying attention the HTC Leo is to feature a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Windows Mobile 6.5, WiFi, GPS, HSDPA and a 5MP camera.
Let’s just hope that HTC strikes a deal with a North American carrier sooner rather than later.

Here’s one more WM6.5 device pegged for a release this Oct 6th. The ultrapowerful Acer F1 will be making its debut on the same day as many other Windows phones, but it remains to be seen if its 1GHz Snapdragon CPU coupled with a 3.8-inch 480×800 touchscreen display, 5-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, and HSDPA support will set it a notch above the others. And all that goodness at just $480 may sound too good to be true, but it’s true, says PocketPCThoughts. So did we help in driving the $1010 X2 out of your mind already?

Ever wondered what an iPhone-like capacitive touchscreen would look like when coupled with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor? Well, now you can as PocketPT has recently put up a video showcasing the HTC Leo’s touchscreen capabilities which we’ve included for your viewing pleasure above.
While we don’t know exactly when the HTC Leo will be made available for purchase, its 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen, 5MP camera and 1GHz processor will definitely make it a more than viable competitor.

While we’ve seen specs and renders of the HTC Leo leak out we have yet to see the device in the flesh. Luckily, the Internet has gotten its hands on an actual pre production device and boy does it look pretty.
The HTC Leo is said to feature a 4.3 inch touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 and a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. As you can see, it’s also running a version of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5.
Too bad we still don’t a solid release date for this device but, as always, we’ll keep you posted.

Contrary to the earlier rumors that the HTC Leo would be a flip phone, news has now surfaced that the forthcoming HTC handset might in fact carry a regular monoblock form factor, like the iPhone or HTC’s own Touch HD. A full spec sheet was recently unearthed on ai.rs blog, which, while confirming the Snapdragon CPU, also revealed:
From the looks of it, the Leo is going to be one fast (and big) cellphone, but nothing is concrete right now including its name (as Leo is just the codename) until HTC thinks it’s the right to reveal so, which we hope will happen pretty soon.

Some recent rumors point to a September release of new Acer smartphones. It looks like the company is ready to release a bunch of phones come this fall. The A1, C1/E1, F1 and L1. We’ve been waiting for Acer to make up its mind and announce at least a couple of the handsets mentioned above. The A1 for example will be an Android-powered smartphone while the F1 will be a Windows Mobile phone powered by that Snapdragon platform from Qualcomm. We’ll be waiting for Acer to confirm the rumors and offer us more details about these hot phones.

At this point we’re not sure how much merit you should put into this rumor, but take it as you will. A Danish mobile phone site, Mobil, has recently gotten their hands on what they are calling internal documents showcasing an Android powered Sony Ericcson XPERIA reportedly codenamed Rachael.
According to the documents, this phone will feature a full 1GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8MP camera, HSPA and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Other than that, no details were spoken of. However, if this handset is truly set to hit the market sometime we can expect a statement from Sony in the coming weeks/months.

Formally announced back in February as the TG01, Toshiba has recently announced that a rebranded version of the phone, the T-01A, has made its way to Japan today.
If you’re not familiar with this phone, it clocks in at a ridiculously small 9.9mm thick and features Qualcomm’s ridiculously fast (for a cellphone) 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Additionally, the TG01 T-01A features a 800 x 480 4.1-inch WVGA resistive touchscreen and support for HSDPA, GPS and WiFi. Software wise you’ll find the T-01A running Windows Mobile 6.1. What, were you expecting Android?
Let’s hope that Toshiba hurrys up and releases this phone worldwide.

Along with some Windows Mobile 6.5 hotness, we now have news that the upcoming Acer F1 smartphone will be powered by the blazing fast Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU. But unlike the Toshiba TG01 which tops out at 1GHz, the F1 will be limited to a 800 MHz, which although low by computer standards, should be enough horsepower to run a cell phone without a hitch. As we said already, the handset will be running Windows Mobile 6.5 with Acer’s homebrewn Acer Suite 2.0 UI akin to HTC’s TouchFLO 3D and the same could hold true for the Acer E1 and L1, which will also purportedly run WM6.5.
According to AllAboutPhones who got to spend some quality time with the F1 recently at an Acer event, we might actually see a release date as early as September, so we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on this quick fella.

I bet you didn’t see this one coming. A Windows Mobile 6.1 slick handset able to compete against the iPhone or the Storm. We’ve shown you the device yesterday in pictures and today we have a video of it along with more details.
The TG01 will have a 4.1 inch screen and a thickness of only 9.9mm. A heavy duty Qualcomm 1Ghz SnapDragon processor will make everything run smoothly. You get a 3.2 megapixel camera, 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth, and Toshiba customized version of Windows Mobile. Check the video to actually see how all that works. The phone will be launched later this summer and we’re counting on it to fight well against the Pre.
