I remember when I was younger, unlimited texting wasn’t as affordable as it is now and whenever my phone bill was exessive my parents threatened to give my phone’s service the axe. Well, it looks like one parent by the name of Gregg Christoffersen decided to take the axing to a whole new level.

13 year old Dena Christoffersen, Gregg’s daughter, managed to send and/or receive 20,000 text messages in 1 month alone. Of course, her parents didn’t sign up for unlimited texting resulting in a staggering $4,750 phone bill. Hours after receiving the bill, Gregg proceeded to smash his daughter’s cellphone effectively solving the problem ensuring it would never happen again.

MSNBC reports that Verizon has agreed to drop the bill to a more reasonable price, lucky for Gregg. At least we know it wasn’t an iPhone.
