Sony Ericsson has a new special event scheduled for this Wednesday, June 17. The company will probably launch at least one new phone if not more. Are we going to see that much rumored Xperia X2 officially emerge? What else could Sony Ericsson have up its sleeve? It should be pretty hot considering that Sony Ericsson wants to absolutely launch something ahead of the CommunicAsia event. Sony Ericsson’s event is scheduled for 4:30PM Singapore time and we’ll show you soon the new phones.

Nokia’s own app store, the Ovi Store, has been soft launched in Australia, Ireland and Singapore. According to Nokia we should “expect a broader announcement and consumer availability soon.” We should probably see the Ovi Store available in other countries soon but we have no idea what soon actually means. In the mean time, check out the shots above for some Nokia Ovi Store action as it would show on a N97 or a 5800.

HTC has announced prices in Singapore for the two handsets. The Pro2 will cost $887 and the Diamond2 will cost $726. Too much you say? Nokia isn’t a very big name in Korea. The Finish manufacturer hasn’t been shipping any new phones to Korea since 2003. But now it looks like it’s ready to send phones to Korea as the WIPI regulation will soon be lifted. And Nokia has a cool phone for the Korean market. It’s the 6210 Navigator, a phone that might impress even the toughest Korean customers.
Or won’t it? It seems that these Korean customers won’t be able to use the navigation capabilities of the 6210. Which means the 6210 won’t be a good Navigator for anyone in Korea. According to Korean regulations, Nokia has to “embed a server with stored map information” in Korea. Nokia has one in Singapore and it wants to use it. So how is Nokia going to make an impression if they don’t want to play by Korean rules?
