Just a few days after Apple rolled out their iPhone Software update 2.0.1, the iPhone Dev Team has released their Pwnage Tool 2.0.2 today. The new Pwnage Tool will do the same thing as its predecessors. It will jailbreak iPhone’s software in a minute. Well actually not that fast but still just as good.
The only difference this time is that the iPhone Dev Team is advising against upgrading to firmware 2.0.1 if you want to unlock the iPhone with a future Pwnage Tool version.
Or what you could do is upgrade, jailbreak and unlock with a SIM unlocking card which we showed you earlier this week. If those SIM hacks work that is…

We’ve seen a mechanical iPhone 3G SIM unlock the other day. After ordering one SIM you would be placing it between your iPhone and your carrier’s SIM and everything would work out.
Well Brando has something really similar. The iSmartphone unlocks your iPhone 3G as well as other mobiles. Simply place it in the same soft and change the design of your carrier’s card with some scissors. The iSmartphone is available for just $20.50 and will ship worldwide. Tell us how it works if you’ve got one already!

Did you jailbreak your iPhone 3G already? You can do that with iPhone Dev Team’s tools for Macs and Windows. Surely you’d like to unlock it while we’re at it right? You can wait for the Team to develop their unlocking tool, or you can order this useful SIM Unlock Card starting with August 20th. The second version will cost you $34.99. I did say order right?
The SIM unlock is made of a thin piece of FPS and a microcontroller which goes between your carrier’s SIM and the iPhone’s SIM socket. Not only will it work with your iPhone but it should fit any other phone out there. As it’s got Gold Immersion, it will make perfect contact with the SIM and the socket at all times.
After getting it you can simply place it between your favorite carrier (not the one selling the iPhone) and the socket and you will be able to use it to like you would regularly do. It all sounds good, almost too good to be true. If this works, you’d be spending the best $35 you’ve ever spent on mobile gadgets. The main advantage is that you can reuse it as many times on any mobile without damaging the phone or wasting the warranty. The only damage you’ll make is a tiny hole in your carrier SIM (the plastic part) and off you go.
Waiting to see if it turns out fine. Drop a line in case when you get to test one of these babies!

We’ve seen so far the amazing work of iPhone Dev Team who were able to break the iPhone out. Application freedom comes after jailbreaking the iPhone but unlocking isn’t just available yet. The Pwnage Tool was released twice already. The 2.0 version was very soon corrected by the 2.0.1 version.
Just in case you don’t own a Mac, there a Windows Pwnage Tool version for the 3G iPhone, iPhone and iPhone Touch. The Windows version will also jailbreak any of the iPhones or the iPod touch, but it won’t unlock the 3G iPhone yet.

Got the iPhone version 1.1.3? Just got your iPhone back from the dead after it got bricked last time? Want to SIM unlock it anyways? The guys at anySIM just upped the ante with a version 1.3. And yep, this little devil works for Apple iPhone with version 1.1.3 firmware. But then again, it only works for *some* phones. The anySIM v1.3 would only work if you’re currently using Bootloader v3.9 which is the old version. Do NOT use this SIM unlock if you’re using a newer version of Bootloader. With that said, head on over to Zibri’s blog for the version 1.3 of anySIM.
