09 Nov 09 AT&T USBConnect Lightning for the 7.2Mbps upgrade

AT&T has just announced the USBConnect Lightning from Sierra Wireless, a USB stick that allows for 7.2Mbps downlink capability.

I suppose that this device is just in time for AT&T’s 7.2Mbps upgrade, and it will be available on November 22nd for free after rebate on contract for service launches in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, and LA by the end of the year.

04 Jul 08 Sierra Wireless Compass 885 USB Modem Coming at O2

Why do I need an USB Modem? Well I like to backup my current ISP. It happens to go down exactly when I need it the most. And since I don’t always feel like going to the first WiFi cafe in town, I simply go online from my USB Wireless modem. And let’s not mention traveling. That’s when a good laptop battery and a fast 3G USB Modem come in handy.

If I were in the UK, I’d probably end up getting the Sierra Wireless Compass 885 USB Modem which is coming from O2. You will get fast 3G download speeds at 7.2Mbps while upload will go up to 2Mbps. You have the TRU-Install automatic software installation kit and, unlike other USB modems you will get a memory card slot. Carry important data and the Internet connection on the same device.
