Remember the Google Chrome OS screenshots we showed you yesterday? Well we have some bad news for you. It looks like these screenshots were doctored. In fact the new OS hasn’t been leaked yet and we can assume Google is safely guarding it for now. We can also assume that other so-called leaked shots will appear in the future so don’t trust everything you see!

The creator of the fake screenshots has gone ahead and declared the following:

I am sorry if you beleived it. It was a really bad attempt. You all are smart people. I never planned on it getting this big. But it did. (Come one, I know the Google logo. I am actually a graphic designer, I just wanted to see reactions if it was a crappy back.)

Oh, right, I also DO know CSS and HTML. Just clarifying that. I never was going to let this go on longer than 12 hours.

Disappointed?

Yes we have more Pre news and this time we’re taking a better look at Palm’s webOS. More screenshots have been released and we can take a look now at Google Maps, Microsoft Exchange, Facebook and Google, the finger friendly launcher, transparency overlays, dialogue boxes and more. Are you excited or what? webOS might just be the mobile OS ready to fully battle the iPhone. All it needs now are some cool apps and a very dependable handset, which we hope the Pre actually is. Check out the screens and let us know what you think. (more…)
