Have you ever thought about how much radiation you are pumping into your body talking on your cell phone all the time? Neither did I until i saw EWG.org’s handset ranking based on radiation output.
As you can see above, phones that output immense amounts of radiation but are still popular include the Blackberry Curve 8330, the T-Mobile myTouch 3G and, sadly, the Blackberry Bold 9000.
And for those of you out there with an iPhone, yes, it outputs a lot of radiaton.
Check out the full list of handsets here.

It’s no secret that Apple and jailbreaking aren’t the best of friends, but this latest claim is a real hit below the belt.
According to Wired, Apple was quoted to have said that if the number of jailbroken phones increases it could lead to “potentially catasrophic” cyberattacks from such users. They even went on to say that all of these attacks could lead to a cell tower being rendered completely inoperable by jailbroken iPhone users.
This comes as news right after the Copyright Office had been considering legalizing the jailbreaking of phones. Come on Apple, play nice.

It seems that just yesterday the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute did a study that showed texting while driving will give you a 23x greater risk of getting into a crash.
Today, reports suggest that a group of Democrats have banded together to introduce legislation that would effectively ban texting while driving throughout the United States.
While this may be of annoyance to those who love to text, it’s probably for the best considering the risks associated with it.

I bet you keep your cell phone number private right? Or at least you think you do! It looks like anyone could find out any cell phone number and corresponding address and make an inappropriate visit to your house with a bullhorn and a message.
That’s what John Hargrave did! He went to Verizon’s CEO, Mr. Ivan Seidenberg, and called him out to tell him how important privacy should be. Nobody wants a freak with a bullhorn showing up.
The video is hilarious but I can’t but wonder about Seidenberg whereabouts. What if he wasn’t home? Well at least YouTube can show him what happened.
What do you think? Is your privacy safe?

Here’s something that’s sure to spawn an all new safety campaign — It seems that a 25 year old Canadian woman was reported dead on the scene after being in a car accident on the way to work.
Apparently, her car was struck by a tow truck causing her unsecurced laptop in the back seat to fly forward and hit her in the back of the head. Yahoo reports she died as a result of blunt force trauma.
This is terrible news, but let’s see how long it takes for someone to invent a product that prevents this problem.
