The HTC Hero is a beautiful device, that’s no secret, and one of the major contributing factors to its beauty is the Sense UI for Android. However, while the device and software was very pleasing to the eyes, users complained of a rather sluggish experience while using the Sense UI.
Luckily, Paul O’Brien over at MoDaCo has gotten his hands on a upcoming Hero software update that will address this exact problem. As you can see in the above video, the Sense UI is a lot more responsive than it was prior to this update which is sure to please just about every HTC Hero owner out there.
There isn’t an exact date for when the update is going to be rolled out but our sources tell us to expect it in the coming weeks.

It looks like the first Windows Mobile 6.5 running device is the Samsung i910 Omnia and not the Touch Pro2 or Touch Diamond2 from HTC. How is that possible you ask? Well it seems that a cooked up Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM is out there available to install on the Omnia. The custom ROM will strip the Verizon Wireless Samsung Omnia of some applications like VZ Navigator, VZ AppZone, Digital Frame, Shozu, Silver Inbox and more but it cludes various apps like Google Maps, the YouTube player and the WM 6.5 Facebook application.
In order to properly flash your device you’d better get your hands on an XP-powered machine with USB 2.0 port. Simply follow the link for specific installation details.

For all those of you that purchased a Samsung Omnia from Verizon there’s an unofficial ROM, the i910, ready to upgrade you handset. One of the most important features is the GPS unlock but the ROM does other things too:
