The Motorola DROID is undoubtedly one of Verizon’s hottest (if not the hottest) handsets as of late. However, it’s $200 price tag may put it just out of reach for some consumers.
Luckily, Sears has stepped in to give us the phone for $149.99 on a 2-year contract as opposed to Verizon’s price.
So, if you want the DROID, you may as well head over to your local Sears instead of your local Verizon store, right?

Back in September we told you that Microsoft was planning on opening a Windows Cafe in the heart of Paris, France. Well it seems that Windows Cafe is very real and open today in Paris serving up drinks, giving customers free WiFi access and of course showcasing all things Windows.
You can head over to Le Journal du Geek to take a look at the inside of the store here.

What you see above is a live shot of the Windows Mobile 6.5 powered HTC Pure destined for an AT&T launch. Don’t think you’ll be able to walk into your local store and purchase one as it hasn’t been confirmed that all stores have them in stock and it’s not even for sale yet.
Those of you who know the HTC Touch Diamond2 will be familiar with this phone as spec wise it is the same thing except for the fact that it features a different body design exclusive to AT&T.
Why exactly they would take a perfectly good design and make it uglier, I don’t know.

Back in July it was announced that Barnes & Noble would be teaming up with AT&T to offer free WiFi access for all of their customers. Today, Borders has announced that they too will be offering free WiFi access as a recent partnership with Verizon.
The deal has just been sealed so reports say you can expect virtually all of the 500 nationwide Borders stores to have free WiFi access by the end of October.

RadioShack has long been a retailer of handsets from various carriers including Sprint, AT&T and Verizon. However, a T-Mobile handset has never found its way onto a RadioShack shelf. That could all be a thing of the past as RadioShack and T-Mobile have reportedly inked a partnership.
Apparantly, starting on August 19th, RadioShack will have the myTouch 3G, along with other T-Mobile handsets, on sale in-store.
BGR reports that wireless sales currently announce for 30% of RadioShack’s total revenue, so this recent partnership with T-Mobile should come as no surprise.

When Amazon.com first started selling books in the early 90s, they took the market by surprise. Now, the company is looking to do the same thing except this time with the cellphone market.
No, Amazon won’t be launching their own handset or mobile OS but instead they have launched Amazon Wireless, a one stop online retail location for all things cellphone related. Hell, they’ve even gone as far as offering free 2-day shipping on all phones.
Of course, everything that is listed on Amazon Wireless was already listed on Amazon.com so they technically haven’t really added any new products but instead made them easier to find.
