All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

While the point of a bulletproof flash drive flew right by me, the QiGi AK007 and its ability to take on a barrage of bullets and come out unscathed makes perfect sense (at least to a spy or a law enforcement officer).  There is no information on whether it can withstand extreme forces of nature, but we can assume that being armored and all, it should be able to cope to some extent.  Other features include a 2.8-inch QVGA display, GPS, a 2mpx camera, and Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system with two variants supporting CDMA and GSM networks.

There are no details on a release date, availability, or price but we will try find out on our next Kevlar shopping trip.

  • The Chinese QiGi i6 smartphone is probably the first device compatible with both Windows Mobile and Google Android. The video above shows how the smartphone works on Android but it might very well work on Windows Mobile too. At least that’s what QiGi say.

Now that you’ve seen the video, what say you? Would you buy a smartphone capable of running multiple OS?

    Qigi i6 handset with GPS

Qigi is a new handset that comes directly from China and can offer quite a set of features, starting with the different operative systems - Windows Mobile 6.1 or Android - and a lot more. The 2 different models are named i6 Win for Windows, and i6 Goal for Andriod.

One of the negative aspects of the Qigi i6 is the exclusion of 3G, but on the other hand the mobile device offers integrated GPS, a Marvell Monohans processor at 624MHz, and a 2-megapixel camera. Additional features include a 2.8-inch LCD touchscreen with 65k colors, bluetooth, WiFi, and the more than usual microSD memory card sloy.

Sadly there is no information about its price or release date.
