I don’t think you need a new Twitter application for your iPhone but just in case you want one that’s capable of getting you better push notifications then you should check out the iTweetReply. The app is now available in the App Store for just $2 and, like I said, it’s coming with improved push notification. Other Twitter applications already offer push notifications for mentions and direct messages but iTweetReply works with any mentions and direct messages.
And here’s what you can expect from iTweetReply:
- Replies and Direct messages using Push appear as an SMS and enable you to quickly reply
- Simple user friendly Twitter client
- Shows Replies, Direct messages and your Timeline
- Shake to reload
- Show Conversation view for both Direct Messages enabling for the history of a conversation to show like an SMS
- Upload and share photos using TwitPic
- “+” to add people into a reply or send a Direct Message from a Twitter contacts list
What do you say? Ready to pay the $2?

Android and webOS have something that the iPhone doesn’t. The iPhone doesn’t have multitasking yet although it’s a feature many people were waiting for. One more thing the iPhone doesn’t have is support for push notifications. That’s another feature many people were waiting for.
One problem for multitasking or push notifications for the iPhone might be the current hardware capabilities of the iPhone. A next-gen iPhone might however be able to offer those features. Since we’re already talking about iPhone 2,1, should we also consider iPhone 3.0 software? Are we to assume that iPhone 2,1 will come with iPhone 3.0 firmware installed?
