There’s nothing wrong with a little insane competition in the mobile world. Take Samsung for example. Instead on working round the clock to make better and better handsets it has decided to set the world record for fastest texting while skydiving.
Ten skydivers have been equipped with various handset like the Propel, Alias, Gravity, Rant or Messenger. Everyone took two jumps and everyone landed safely each time. The Guinness team has yet to establish if the record has been set, and once we’ve settled that whole thing the Samsung team should get back to work.

AT&T has a few campaigns running to increase the sale of cellphones, and now that Christmas is pretty close, the more they sell, the better.
One of those deals is a 2-for-1 offer, also known as buy 1 get 1 for free. The two handsets included in the deal are the following: Samsung Propel, and Pantech Matrix. Every good deal has a negative detail, and in this case it is translated to a mandatory 2-year contract, plus a $35 monthly package.
How does it work:

Samsung has announced the Propel cellphone that will go directly to the US by the “hands” of AT&T. The smartphone costs close to $80 with a 2-year agreement + rebate, and will become available to the public later this month.
The Propel is a “sliding” type of phone that hides a QWERTY keypad in the inside, making the writing tasks on instant messaging programs and email services much easier and faster. It supports 3G HSDPA network, and works with AT&T Mobile Music that provides songs to be purchased and downloaded.
Other features on the new Samsung cellphone include a 1.3-megapixel camera, bluetooth, MP3 player, microSD slot, and Video Share to make 2-way calls.
