Unlike other big names in the mobile business, Samsung managed to bring in some cash in the first quarter of 2009. Overall the company has done batter than in the last quarter of 2008 bringing in a total of $459 million. The sad part for Samsung is that a 72% drop compared to the same period of last yer. As for Samsung’s mobile division, it has grown 36% in revenue which is pretty good considering the current times. With all the phones Samsung announced at the beginning of the year, we’d be surprised for it not to make a profit. We expect Samsung to sell even more phones in the following months as more handsets will be unveiled.

HTC is definitely climbing on the ”best phone” ladder. They’ve scored a general 22% sales increase this year and $528.57 million in profit last month, undoubtedly thanks to its smartphones.
The HTC top sellers are now the Touch Diamond and the Android-based G1. I’m sure this is no news flash to anyone since the G1, sold exclusively by T-Mobile, was voted the US favorite phone last month.
So if you’re stuck in anonymity like HTC used to be before developing the Touch Series and the Android smartphone, email them to find out how they came up with such brilliant ideas, that have definitely paid off! I’m sure they won’t share it with you!

These reports shouldn’t really surprise anyone! Apple has been reporting great results all over 2008, and we already know that Mac and iPhone users are increasing every day! Despite their higher price and the current financial crisis. I myself think they deserve every penny. Macbooks, iMacs, iPods and iPhones are out of the box products which people have grown to love. So all I can say is, you go Apple! Microsoft, the ball is in your court now!
