Marvel Comics Coming to the iPhone

Comics have become the next focus of attention as far as apps for the iPhone or iPod Touch these days and it looks like a marquee comic label will be joining the ranks of Comixology, iVerse and Panelfly. Last August, the lack of known comic brands was brought up here on Mobile Whack and it looks like the developers of the app heard us.

Several new and classic comic book issues will be added to their roster which should get the fancy of people who have started using their iPhones for their comic book collection and reading needs. Prices vary among the three developers though but if you want the cheapest one, then Panelfly should be it with a $0.99 price tag although you may want to consider the comic issues before deciding to purchase the app and from whom.

SEG Clip for iPhones

Most iPhone owners would love to discover new ways to enhance their iPhones. While these mobile devices from Apple are known to be able to play videos in certain formats, portable TV tuners may be one thing lacking. Similar to the desktop PC, a TV tuner may be needed and that is exactly what this USB clip aims to deliver.

Called the SEG Clip, this USB clip from Japan allows users to enjoy TV viewing right from their very own iPhones. The SEG Clip supports 1SEG, a TV standards used in Japan, Peru and Brazil. One catch is that is should be hooked on to a PC’s USB port that will thereafter allow the user to stream digital TV data to their iPhone via WiFi connection.

Just in case you cannot finish watching the TV program, you can get a software called the TVPlayer which can save TV programs for later viewing. The program is free over at the Japan App Store.

Compatible with the iPhone 3G, 3GS and the iPod Touch, the SEG Clip will be released by the end of the month in Japan and will carry a $70 price tag.

Boasting a 13.9mm-thickness, the 3G Touch Watch Phone delivers functions of a cell phone on a small size device like a watch. In particular, it supports 7.2Mbps HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) network as well as video telephony with a built-in camera. • Vodafone continues to improve its current line of handsets and the latest is that of the Vodafone 527 Catwallk Collection. Away from the handset headlines, Vodafone continues to roll out own-brand phones that do the job, but come with at a no-frills price tag. As well as a bunch of new models announced recently, Vodafone has given its ultra low-cost models a Catwalk Collection refresh.

The new-look Vodafone 527 is one of these, a budget candybar phone that has been made over for value-conscious phone buyers who still desire a bit of show. The recession-beating 527 Catwalk Collection phone is now available in a range of eye-grabbingly colourful bodywork choices - violet, ice (white), rose (pink), lemon and sky (blue).

The 527 is not exactly stuffed to the gills with high-tech gadgetry. It’s a workmanlike dual-band GSM handset rather than a 3G model. But it does have a few features to entertain away the downturn, including a music player with MicroSD memory card expansion, FM radio, and camera.
