Palm is not exactly in te best of financial situations considering their flagship device, the Pre, failed to become a national phenomenon as they had hoped. However, a ray of hope came for the company when talks about bringing the devices to AT&T arose. The Pre and Pixi were in fact rumored to be hitting AT&T as early as next month but that may have been halted.
Reports have arose that say AT&T has found some problems with the Pre and Pixi and are delaying the launch of the devices until June or July. And, to make things even worse, AT&T has reportedly decreased their initial order from Palm and cut back on their marketing budget for the two devices.
Don’t worry Palm, I think the Pre is cool.

Now that Palm’s webOS is on both Sprint and Verizon and is rumored to be coming to AT&T, that leaves only T-Mobile. Now, rumors have arose that T-Mobile and Palm are working to bring a webOS to their carrier, as well.
There’s no word on whether or not this will be a brand new device or just a beefed up Pre or Pixi, like on Verizon, but we’ll have to wait and see how this one unfolds.

What you see above is supposedly a leaked document sent by a Sprint technician. If you break out the magnifying glass, you’d be able to see that February 15th is the date that the Palm Pre and Pixi will be getting their operating systems updated to version 1.4. If you weren’t aware, webOS 1.4 is the update that features the highly sought after video recording capabilities.
This rumor is far from confirmed at this point but February 15th is only 5 days away so we’ll find out soon enough.

While Apple’s App Store has just reached over 3 billion downloads, Palm’s App Catalog has only just made it to 1,000 apps available. To rememdy this, Palm has just announced at CES that they will be holding a Hot App giveaway where developers will compete for 10 million dollars.
There has yet to be announcements on the specifics of this giveaway but we do know that Palm will be giving away the money to developers with the highest app download count.

Pretty much everyone knows that the Palm Pre has been available since June of this year. You’ll likely also remember that Verizon said they would get the device not long after. However, we’ve yet to hear of a successor to the device.
Now, rumors have begun circulating about devices called the Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus appearing as webOS’s debut on Verizon. Unfortunately, there was no say of the possible upgrades the phones are to have.
While these rumors have yet to be confirmed, those who claim the rumor seem pretty positive.

According to my Source, Sprint is releasing an upgrade for the Palm Pre today. This upgrade, webOS 1.3.5 should hopefully fix a few problems.
What problems? How about the app storage limit, better performance, as well as battery life. We will see if webOS 1.3.5 is a fix for that.

The Palm Pre is one of the phones that disappointed this year. Don’t get me wrong, the Pre is a great phone and I’ve said that a couple of times. But the Pre has disappointed by not becoming the hit iPhone competitor we believed it to be in the first half of the year.
And today we hear about a new problem related to the Pre. It looks like various people have reported issues with backing up their data. Some users have been trying to restore from a backup that doesn’t have their data. Palm has acknowledged the fact that some of its customers are encountering this problem and issued a brief statement on the matter:
We are seeing a small number of customers who have experienced issues transferring their Palm Profile information to another Palm webOS device. Palm and Sprint are working closely together to support these customers to successfully transfer their information to the new device.
Apparently if it happened to you, it’s your fault. You should definitely start nagging a Sprint representative in case you have been experiencing the issue!

We’re really tired to see this weird game between Apple and Palm. It was a little funny at first but we should expect to see this mind games occur every now and then. Here’s how it works: Apple launches a new iTunes version that happens to block the Pre out and then Palm comes up with a solution that will allow iTunes synching again.
Apple has a new iTunes version available and naturally, Palm Pre owners won’t be able to use it, at least for the time being. Version 9.0.2 was launched this week and it’s still too early for Palm to release an iTunes syncing solution. The simplest thing you can do is not to download the upload and keep using your old iTunes version with your Pre. What do you think?

Palm Pixi is now an official Sprint and in case you’re still not sure about buying one then maybe this little info will help. Well it’s mostly a rumor but it looks like the new webOS phone will come with a new OS version. The new software will bring you more features although we still don’t know what they are. Rumors say that the next OS built is either 1.2.9 or 1.3. Currently the Pre is running version 1.2.1 which means we could be in for a lot of changes once the new OS hits. What do you say Pre owners? Are you ready for a new webOS version?
Naturally there are no release dates announced yet but we might just see the Pixi come with the new OS on board. We’ll tell you more about the new webOS once it becomes available.

In case you got pretty excited two days ago to find out that Palm and Sprint are getting ready to launch the Pixi on October 20 then you’re about to get pretty bummed to hear that said date might not be that precise. The source failed to mention the correct launch date but we can assume that both Sprint and Palm would like to have a fresh phone available in time for Christmas. In case you have already passed on the Palm Pre, which can be purchased right now for just $79 from Walmart, will you consider getting the Pixi this winter?

- new way to share link easily, with a push of a button;

Have you purchased your Palm Pre yet? Well in case you’re still considering getting the phone you should know that the word on the street is that the Pre will come with a new price starting September 8. Instead of the regular $199 with a contract you should be able to get it for just $149.99 after a mail-in rebate and with a Sprint contract. Nothing is official so far but it looks like the documents indicate that the promotion will last until October 31. Considering that Sprint is getting ready to sell HTC’s hottest Android phone, the Hero, it might be a good idea not to rush into things just yet. Maybe you’re money will be better spent on the Hero instead! What do you say Sprint customers?

While Palm might have stopped the webOS 1.2 leakage, that doesn’t mean you can’t check out webOS 1.2 in action. The video above was made by one lucky webOS 1.2 owner. As you can see the new OS version will let you copy and paste both text and graphics. You can also save images and copy URLs now and the zoom features has been definitely improved. Search email is now available and I’m sure some of you have been requesting this feature a lot. And it looks like the LEDs in the gesture area could be enabled to offer notifications but you’d have to do it yourself (not included in the video above.)
What’s you experience with webOS 1.2? Have you installed it already on your Pre? Palm will probably release the new OS soon as they’re definitely getting ready to launch the App Catalog.

Are you waiting for a new webOS update from Palm? Well look no more since the 1.2 version has already been leaked. And you shouldn’t start looking for it on torrents sites! Absolutely not! Simply try to apply the webOS Doctor to reset your phone and what might happen is for you to have webOS 1.2 conveniently installed on your phone.
The update is not official yet but you can try your luck and you might just get it. webOS 1.2 is said to bring you a “much improved (zoom animation)”, “little tweaks throughout, a Select All feature in the browser, improved GPS services location and account information for App Catalog. It looks like Sprint is getting ready to launch not one, but two new Palm smartphones running webOS. According to Sprint’s inventory system, the Palm 120 and C40 are on their way but we have no idea what these new phones look like or what features we should expect from them. The 120 is supposed to be the Eos which we’re already expecting but the C40 is still a mystery. We’ll have to wait for some unhappy employee from Sprint or Palm to clear the air for us and leak the first shots of these new Palm smartphones. And just in case you’re wondering, Verizon will probably get these new Palms too at some point in the near future, so you won’t have to switch to Sprint to get your new Palm 120 or C40.

Canadians can now purchase their own Pre phone from Bell but you already knew that. What you didn’t know is that UK customers will apparently be able to get their own GSM Palm Pre by the end of October. The Pre will be available exclusively from O2 in the UK and the carrier has been keeping things quiet so far. But it looks like O2 managers have been given a release date which sounds exactly like Friday, October 30.

With the iPhone finally going to China after months and months of negotiations and false announcements, we also hear that another 2009 hot phone might be headed that way. The Palm Pre is the phone in question and China Telecom is the carrier said to be in talks with Palm for the handset. No clear announcement has been made so far but it’s probably only a matter of time until Palm will ship it’s Pre to China. What do you think, would Palm’s Pre commercial be more popular in China?

This a strange news coming in folks! It looks like Palm wants to prove that unlike others, it won’t reject or ban Google’s Google Voice app and the application will be available for Pre owners. Nothing weird so far, right? But get ready for this! It looks like Google isn’t aware of Palm intentions of launching a Google Voice app for the Pre. In fact, Google seems to want to launch a web based version of Google Voice that lacks deep integration with native apps like dialer or contacts.
So let me get this straight, is Palm trying to come up with a full Google Voice app by itself? Does Sprint know anything about this? Will the FCC have to request answers from everyone to clarify the status of Google Voice on Pre phones?

That’s right Bell customers, you should be happy to know that Bell is ready to sell a Palm Pre to you. In fact the carrier has a new ad which should convince you to pre-order a Pre right away. And in case you feel like you’ve seen that particular ad before then you probably have. Others did it before and you might have heard about the phone in question. People like to call it the iPhone. Don’t get me wrong there! The Pre is definitely a great phone, only it hasn’t risen to everyone expectations. And it hasn’t been able to comfortably fight against the iPhone just yet. But what do you think Bell customers? Are you going to purchase your Pre soon?
