Fujitsu has just announced what they claim to be the highest capacity 2.5 inch external HandyDrive. This new storage solution will offer you 500GB of space. And since we’re still living in a mobile world, this hard drive could be the perfect solution for your travels.

This HandyDrive isn’t just a “stupid” drive. It comes with a new passoword lock tool option which will surely secure your classified data. As for power consumption this external drive is said to reduce it by 35% in standby mode. If you need data transfer speeds, the HandyDrive has a maximum of 60MB per second and it comes with an 8MB read/write buffer.

The HandyDrive weighs only 220 grams, and in case you drop it, its internal shock endurance mechanism might save its life. That means your HandyDrive is secure no matter what happens to it. If stolen the password tool will keep your files secure. If dropped, the shock absorber can save it.

You can choose between various capacities. From 160GB to 500GB. The 500GB 2.5 inch HandyDrive from Fujitsu will be available in July for about $364.
