Everything is being upgraded and getting more technical every day. I guess one day while walking in the rain, designer Sang-Kyun Park must have wondered what else he could invent and he came up with this umbrella that harnesses raindrops for electricity. And it effectively does that, well, except for keeping your dry in the rain.
I think the LightDrops idea is pretty cool, but why do you need a light umbrella? So that the raindrops know where to fall on to? It’s not like we only get our umbrellas out in the night!
Just try to picture the busy streets of London or NY at 10A.M on a typical rainy day when everybody is out there using the LightDrops umbrella. The people underneath the umbrellas will be probably wearing sunglasses. I wonder if that’s the point of it.

Packed your bags? Don’t forget you smartphone and your laptop. Pack that external hard drive too, maybe you’ll want some of those movies you have been collecting. Get some close too and don’t forget your plane tickets. And since you are traveling, don’t forget to pack your iZap toothbrush sanitizer.
VIOlight are the creators of this toothbrush sanitizing system. And it’s a very good idea, after all someone should take care of that toothbrush of yours. The iZap uses the Germicidal UltraViolet technology from VIOlight and it will kill 99.9% of germs and bacteria on your toothbrush. Instead of keeping your toothbrush out in the open, simply place it in the iZap case and close it. That way you automatically turn of the UV light which is exactly how hospital and dental offices sanitize some of their tools.
The whole process last for about 6 minutes. After that the light bulb turns off automatically. It has about 8,000 hours of battery life, so you’ll never go without sanitizing your toothbrush. The iZap currently retails at $19.95 only and it comes with a free toothbrush. Just in case you don’t own it yet, get one on your way to the airport.

A few months ago, we reported on the release of the Zipit Wireless Messenger 2. It’s a portable device which could be used to access various instant messaging services. This time, Zipit is upping the ante by offering text messaging feature to their line of functionalities. Zipit usually costs nothing to use but the text messaging function would cost a mere $4.99 for text messages up to 3,000 in number per month. Now that’s what you call a bargain. Full launch of the feature will be on February of 2008. From its soft-launch last December 20 until then, the text messaging feature would be free.
Pros:
*Cheaper than other text messaging services
Cons:
*Can’t send out messages to more than a single recipient at one time
*Can’t accept messages from numbers not in a pre-configured list (what if it’s an emergency???)
