Barcode scanning is a feature that has been integrated on the iPhone. And now, it seems that compatibility this will be broadened with the new software Library from Vision Smarts, catering to practically all models of iPhones released in the market. From here on any iPhone will be able to read barcodes from live video, much like a checkout scanner. It will be featured in the upcoming version of the popular pic2shop app.

The library is currently available for the Apple iPhone, and will soon be compatible with other platforms. The new version of the pic2shop app features the latest “live” scanning technology. Like the previous versions, it will be free and released later this month.

Droplitz Coming to the iPhone Soon

There is a new game set to come for iPhones soon and it is Droplitz from Blitz Arcade. The same game has already debuted on such famous platforms as Xbox Live, Playstation and the PC.

Droplitz is a game about connecting dials to save the precious droplitz dripping from the top of the screen. If you create multiple paths at the same time, you earn score combos and generate more droplitz.

“Droplitz is such a favorite in the studio and we’re really excited that players are getting their hands on it finally. Reaction so far has been great and we just want everyone out there to enjoy it as much as we do. It’s great working with such a passionate and enthusiastic publisher as Atlus, who share our excitement about this game.”

No definite date has been announced on its availability or price for the iPhone or iPod Touch.

There is a new kind of memory in the market and will certainly rock the configuration of latest CPU specifics today. The new memory is the Corsair Dominator which has just gotten the Intel’s XMP-Ready certification for Core i7 Extreme Edition processors, making it the fastest memory kit to date.

The 6GB Dominator GT 2000MHz CAS 8 (TR3X6G2000C8GTF) is part of Corsair’s award-winning Dominator GT line of hand-screened, hand-tuned, extreme performance DDR3 memory for Core i7 platforms. It is qualified and guaranteed to run at a frequency of 2000MHz with tight timings of 8-8-8-24 at a voltage of 1.65V. The platform used for the Intel qualification was an Asus P6T Deluxe.

We have seen the fast evolution of internal components of the PC industry and for sure, this signals a new birth in the age of memory modules today. All Corsair Dominator GT modules are built using the patent-pending DHX+ heatsink, which uniquely cools both the front and back of the memory ICs, and the printed circuit board, for greater reliability and increased overclocking flexibility.

It looks like Acer is looking beyond the standards Windows platform for its smartphones. Acer is planning to produce smartphones running on platforms besides Microsoft’s Windows Mobile OS by the end of the year, the company confirmed.

Acer representatives in Taipei, Taiwan, confirmed that they will launch handsets running on alternative platforms before the year is out, but declined to say which operating systems the phones would use. When Acer launched their lineup of smartphones at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, company officials hinted that Acer was thinking of launching phones using Google’s Android platform.

All of Acer’s phones run on a widget-based version of Windows Mobile 6.1. Acer has said it plans on releasing phones later this year, most likely in the third or fourth quarter, running on Windows Mobile 6.5.
