All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

Can you imagine being given the privilege of calling anyone from anywhere in the world for free? Now that is something all of us would need especially during these times. And thanks to Witel, you can do so. All you have to do is get one of these Witel Phones called the Jetter, look for a place that has good Wi-Fi connectivity and you are on your way.

The whole concept seems to be somehow familiar to Skype but the thing is, you don’t need a computer to aid you in making calls. The Jetter is all you will need, a handset that will allow you to make and receive calls on any Wi-Fi network. Using the Jetter is simple – just turn it on and enter your Witel phone number and password, and it will automatically begin sniffing for Wi-Fi networks. Once you’re on a network the phone is ready to be used.

Witel offers two calling plans priced at $9.99/mo and $19.99/mo respectively with no additional charges, no activation fees, no increases after several months, and no long-term contracts.

Witel plans are available to anyone in the world and are packed with incredible features such as:

  • Free Global Witel to Witel calls – Any two Witel subscribers from anywhere in the world may place free calls.
  • Free Global Incoming Calls – Say goodbye to roaming charges as incoming calls to a Witel phone are always free no matter where the subscriber may be on the planet.

Teletouch Communications Inc. continues its drive to put e-waste in its place as the company has announced that they will be continuing its “Go Green with Hawk” cell phone recycling and disposal program at the upcoming Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial PGA TOUR Golf Tournament, being held Monday May 25 through Sunday May 31, 2009, at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

In conjunction with Colonial staff and PGA TOUR officials, spectators will be encouraged to bring their old, unused, and in many cases, no-longer-working cell phones to specially designed recycling bins at each of the major visitor entrances to the Colonial. Teletouch’s Hawk Electronics division staff members will empty them each day, and return collected items to the Company’s approximately 50,000sf warehouse and office facility in Fort Worth, Texas, for refurbishment for use by various Hawk-related charity groups, or proper disposal, as applicable.

Cell phones contain many toxic materials that pollute the environment and threaten human health. When recycled responsibly, many of the metals and other materials can be recycled, further helping to protect the planet.
