Optoma Concept Projector and Screen

This one device is under construction by Optoma, but it essentially uses a pico projector with compact screen to create a new type of display. I am going to assume that all the hardware folds up in this bag, and it is easily portable.

Of course, the projector would have to be directly pointed at the screen, right? I am assuming that the user cannot block that, so this device couldn’t be used like a laptop. I suppose that this could work for presentations, in rooms where there isn’t a screen, maybe.

Since this is still concept, we don’t have a release date or price as yet.

  • It would appear that the ever-growing pico-projector market got a little more competition with the Sparkz. Sparkz is compatible with the iPod (provided it has video capability), iPod Touch, iPhone (it will charge it too), console games, camcorder, PSP, DVD players, media players, as well as laptops and computers. It has a 60-inch viewing area with 640 x 480 resolution, not to mention stereo speakers and a tripod.

The cost might be a little high at $495, but I don’t know any pico projectors that are compatible with all the things I mentioned above without requiring some sort of sold-separately adapter. There’s a video of the Sparkz in action after the jump.

  • The Samsung MBP200 pico projector phone might be the handset you’ve been waiting for. It was announced a while ago and it finally has a price and a released date. The phone will be ready to ship in May and it will cost you around $637. Unfortunately it will arrive only in selected European markets for now. The other bad boy, the Samsung Snow or the i7410 will arrive this summer and we’re still hunting for that price. Which one would you choose?

    MPro110 Pico Projector from 3M

Pack your pico projector and your netbook and go deliver that keynotes wherever you want. When it comes to choosing a netbook you have lots of options. They are all similar pieces of hardware under different brands. But choosing a pico projector is actually more difficult as there aren’t that many on the market.

3M has a new pico projector ready for launch. It’s the MPro110 we’re talking about. It will cost you just $359. Not a bad price right? The only things missing are the built-in speakers and the brightness. 3M will ship the pico projector starting with September 30th.

We’ve seen our share of really small projectors and it’s Toshiba’s turn to release one. Their Pico projector is scheduled to be released sometime early next year. The official announcement is expected at the next CES. Toshiba’s Pico projector will be able to project a 60 inch screen despite being as big as a cell phone. You’d want one of those wouldn’t you?
