Samsung has announced its own open mobile platform the other day, bada, and now we have pictures of the first bada phone available. Samsung intends to reveal everything about bada at some point next month in December and that’s probably when we’re going to see the first bada phone made official too. The special event hosted by Samsung in London should also bring the bada SDK to developers but we’ll tell you more about it next month. For now we only have this leaked picture of the first bada phone so we’ll be looking forward to see some leaked specs and features too. What do you say, Samsung?

Ever since we first heard of LG’s GD910 watch-phone back in December of last year, we’ve been wondering when we would actually see it hit the North American market, if ever.
Well today, we get a ray of hope shined on the device as it has recenelty made its was through the FCC and is (almost) ready to hit North American shelves. For those of you who have trouble keeping track of your phone, this one’s for you as it straps to your wrist effectively making it impossible to lose, if you never take it off that is.
Now that we’ve seen the FCC shots all we need to hear of is a carrier. AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile? You guys listening?

I’m sure this is a feature some of you have seriously considered at least once. But would actually use a cigarette lighter phone? The phone in the picture here comes with a cigarette lighter but we doubt it’s the real thing. If you’re having any safety questions then you should know that the lighter is located on the back of the SB6309 and it comes with a protective cover. Simply slide it and light up your next cigarette.
Or you could choose a smartphone instead and quit smoking. I certainly hope that nobody will actually consider creating such a phone. But just in case this proves to be more than a joke, we’ll be ready to offer you all the hidden details. In case you stumble upon the official site of the phone you should also be aware of the fact that it could potentially harm your PC. The world malware has been used more than once!

With the LG Glance, it seems you either love or hate the gold toned woven metal design on the back, however it is generally agreed upon that the front is attractive and functional. The buttons are big and tactile, and for an entry-level phone, the QVGA (240 x 320) screen is pleasing. This phone is also amazingly thin at .38 inches. A noted difference between this and other candy bar style phones, is the placement of the clear button- it’s in the center, directly under the joystick.
Since this is an entry-level phone, there aren’t as many fancy Verizon gizmos to play with as found on higher-end LG phones, however it does feature Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, WAP 2.0 browser, microSD slot and a decent 1.3 megapixel camera with digital zoom. The current price of this handset is $49.99 after rebates and a 2-year contract.

Let’s forget the iPhone 3GS and the Palm Pre for a while and concentrate on the distant future. What do you see Mr. Spock? What about a Kambala mobile phone? Well the concept in the picture above is said to be capable of morphing into a earphone too. Push the center piece and the clip for your ear comes out. What you get is a phone-earphone kind of thing which is kind of weird but in a good way. But does it have any hidden tricks? Does it have impressive feature? So far we know that it is made of a continous flexi-screen containing lots of sensors capable of transmitting the image on the inside of the phone to the outside. That alone shall not do for special features but the concept itself is pretty interesting. Would anyone trade their new Pre for a Kambala?

Naturally Microsoft has gone ahead and denied all that Zune phone buzz from earlier today. Brian Seitz said that the rumors posted on that @officethemovie Twitter account are basically false:
That account is bunk. Not run by Microsoft so I would not put much stock in what they say. The real Office movie account is http://twitter.com/office2010movie.
It was fun while it lasted but from what we see here Microsoft isn’t denying the actual Zune phone so who knows what’s coming in the near future?

Microsoft have brought out a new Facebook client for Windows Mobile phones, and you don’t have to wait for Windows Mobile 6.5 to use it. This free app works on any 6.0, 6.1 or 6.5 smartphone, touchscreen or non-touchscreen, and permits full messaging, photo and video uploads and integration with the handset’s phone features to make calls direct from Facebook profiles.
The Facebook client for Windows Mobile also allows you to amend and edit your profile as well as add status updates. Facebook already has a mobile version arranged for small smartphone and cellphone displays, but the functionality tends to be somewhat limited compared to the desktop interface. This new application, which is an 871kb CAB file download, should make navigating the site more effortless for Windows Mobile users

After we’ve seen that almost cute Zune HD concept, we have more Zune-related news which also concerns the cell phone business. First and foremost, no Microsoft is not launching a Zune phone.
The new Pink service is about to be revealed as people say that Microsoft is talking to important ad agencies regarding this Zune software for mobile phones project. We don’t have the exact details so far but it’s suspected that Microsoft is going to make the Zune the preferred media software for all Windows Mobile phones. Does that require ad agencies to promote it? Is this such a big announcement? Is anything bigger in the works?

Steve Ballmer’s at it again and this time he sets his focus upon Windows Mobile 7. While we originally learned from a Motorola exec that Windows Mobile 7 probably wouldn’t hit the market until 2010, Big Bad Ballmer cleared that up for us; Windows Mobile 7 is officially set for a 2010 release date.
Ballmer then went on to say, in a Strategic Update Meeting, that a Zune branded phone will never hit the market. Microsoft currently has no plans to produce their own cellphone hardware and will leave that up to the pros.

Is it a phone? Is it a laptop? Is it a MID? Whatever it is, it’s made by Archos and it will supposedly run on Android. Archos might even go ahead and launch this one at the MWC.
The press release says this “Internet Media Tablet” will work as a phone too and it will use a new OMAP3 processor. We’re looking at a device that sports a 5-inch screen, up to 500GB hard drive, a battery capable of 7 hours of video playback and Flash support. Well it had me at 500GB hard drive. Now I’m really curious to see how it really looks like. Yeah, the picture doesn’t display the real thing yet. We’ll all have to wait until Q3 to get it but MWC might show it to us.
