HP has been releasing a couple of interesting laptops lately, and one of those is on the Pavilion line, more specifically the dm1.
The small HP unit can be considered a UMPC - Ultra Mobile Personal Computer - and it has a 11-6inch screen. In terms of dimensions and weight, it has 289 x 204 x 19.8mm, and 1.39kg.
In terms of technical features, the Pavilion dm1 features an Intel SU2300 dual-core processor running at 1.2GHz, it can handle up to 3GB of memory RAM, a 320GB hard-drive, and a price tag of $665.

HP hasn’t been launching any new laptops recently but the company is adjusting its current line. The Pavilion dv4t is the latest notebook that was quietly upgraded. The new laptop version will get a LED-backlit display, an Espresso Black and Moonlight White color options, integrated WWAN from Verizon or AT&T, a 500GB HDD and optional Blu-ray drive, HDTV tuner, a 12-cell battery and a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce G 105M graphics card. What do you think?

The HP Pavilion dv2 is going to be talked about these following days. It’s the first notebook which is going to run on that AMD Athlon Neo platform we’ve discussed earlier today.
The Pavilion dv2 will boast a 12.1 inch LED-backlit display and it will weigh just under four pounds. We’ll find a 2.5 inch hard drive inside it and you can choose from the 160GB base model all the way up to the 500GB model. Optional Blu-ray is available and as for ports we’re going to find three USB ports, an HDMI port, a 5-in-1 memory card reader, a VGA and an Ethernet port.
The dv2 will arrive in espresso or moonlight, or black or white if you have to ask. What we need now is a launch day and an exact price although we suspect this laptop will cost anywhere from $500 to $1,000.

One of the big names still absent from the flourishing netbook business is AMD. The company has decided not to enter this niche yet but it’s definitely reconsidering its options. We’re not going to see AMD in our next netbooks just yet but AMD has decided to release the Athlon Neo platform for ultrathin notebooks.
AMD is thinking about notebooks which have bigger screens than netbooks but are still ultraportable and fairly cheap. AMD will use its new platform for notebooks in the 11 to 13 inches range.
The platform featuring the 1.6GHz Neo is said to handle better multiple applications better than Intel Atoms and it will be bundle with an ATI Radeon graphic card, either the X1250 or the HD3410.
One of the first laptops to use the new platform is a 12-inch Pavilion dv2 from HP which is thin and ultraportable and it will be priced under $1,000. Isn’t AMD a little bit too late to release a new notebook platform?

HP has announced a new laptop if you are in the market for something that’s not too small as a netbook or as big as a notebook. The new Pavilion dv3500t, though smaller in size compared to other notebooks at just 13 inches (a first for HP), comes packed with hardware that will see you through Crysis without a hitch. The baseline configuration features a Core 2 Duo T5800 processor, 2 gigs of RAM, a GeForce 9300M GS graphics card, and a 160GB harddrive. This can be further bumped up to 8GB of RAM, 400GB of space, or have a higher CPU with a choice of four models up to Core 2 Duo T9400, provided you have the cash for it. Its 13.3-inch display can also be upgraded to an LED-backlit display for an extra $100, which takes away almost half a pound off its 4.1-pound weight. The dv3500t also has an HDMI port, an eSATA port tucked away inside a USB port, a fingerprint scanner, and a webcam. Throwing down a further $29 can get you a six-cell battery instead of the standard four-cell battery that this notebook carries.
If you like what you see, the HP Pavilion dv3500t is available now for sale with the base configuration starting at just $999.

It seems as today is a good day to make announcements about small laptops, which means that on top of the Averatec AVN270N, there was another company presenting a new product – HP and the Pavilion dv3500t series.
Believe it or not, this is the first laptop made by HP that has a screen measuring 13.3-inches, and taking a look at the specs + price, it looks like they did a nice job. The computer is already available online, with a starting price of $1,000.
Besides the usual features, there are two details that stand out and will help the users: under-keyboard backlighting, and a LED backlight panel.

I haven’t checked out any of the new HP laptops did I? And HP did release about 16 new models about two weeks ago. Crazy idea to hit the market right after the WWDC, but they did it. Today we’re going to check out HP’s new Pavilion dv5z. And we’re going to start by mentioning how annoying these letters and numbers names are.

HP, is here, with its latest, and biggest ever blockbuster of a notebook, a 20.1-inch wide creation with an appropriately Hollywood nickname - the Dragon. The actual name however is a more mundane and longwinded one, HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Notebook PC and apparently, it’s so new that HP has not yet christened it with a proper model name/number.
HP is capitalizing on the trend of increasingly powerful, consumer desktop replacement notebooks that are larger than ever. Consumers are taking to 17-inch notebooks for their performance, widescreen displays and multimedia capabilities and manufacturers are convinced that taking a notch further to 20-inches and above is feasible for a certain select desktop replacement (DTR) user group.
The HP Pavilion HDX weighs around 7kg alone, excluding the substantial mass of its power adapter. The HP Pavilion HDX will be available with Intel Core 2 Processor technology for vivid, high-definition mobile gaming, ATI’s Mobility Radeon X2600 XT graphics card with 512MB of graphics memory for exceptional graphics performance, dual hard drives supporting up to 500GB of storage, and memory up to 4GB.
