All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

It seems like everyone is jumping on the Android bandwagon these days, and the latest is the Grande Specchio. This is the latest digital picture frame from Parrot, a company that makes a lot of terrific devices.

The Grande Specchio allows users to share their photos via Picasa and Flickr, as well as transferring photos from a cell phone with Bluetooth and WiFi. By the way, it has a dedicated email address for you to send your photos to, or you can use the old-fashioned way of USB and SD cards.

The 10.4 inch frame should be available by the end of the month for a price of $650.

  • Parrot RK8200 Bluetooth stereo car kit

Parrot announced a slew of Bluetooth devices at the Specialty Equipment Market Association’s annual show. One of the new devices is a high-performance car stereo with integrated Bluetooth car kit, two are new music kits that support audio streaming and there’s also a hands-free phone solution for people riding a motorcycle. The Parrot RK8200 car stereo is a full-fledged Blutooth car kit boasting AM/FM RDS stereo, internal memory that can store up to 300 MP3 tracks, and support for external memory in the form of an SD card reader.

The RK8200 also comes with an iPod connector, input jack for analog devices and USB port for flash drives. This car kit can stream audio over Bluetooth thanks to its A2DP (advanced audio distribution profile) support. Thanks to automatic phonebook sync, call record maintenance and storage capacity for as many as 8,000 contacts, voice recognition and Parrot TTS (text-to-speech), you won’t ever have to worry about using your phone while driving. The dual microphone system on the RK8200 handles echo cancellation, while the Parrot dynamic choice of best microphone (DCBM) technology helps in noise reduction.

Priced at US $279.99, the Parrot RK8200 Blutooth car kit will hit the stores in Q2 2008. A bit far away. If you want something quicker than that, you can opt for the Parrot PMK 5800, a Bluetooth/FM portable device that runs on your vehicle’s 12-volt outlet. Priced at US $119.99, the PMK 5800 ships in November.

    Parrot SK4000

parrotsk4000_uk.jpgParrot, one of the leaders in wireless peripherals around the mobile phone, has today launched the Parrot SK4000, a Bluetooth hands-free motorcycle kit that features FM RDS radio and wireless mobile remote control. The Parrot SK4000 stands out with a clear-cut noise reduction and echo cancelling and the widest range of features available in this market.

Motorcyclists can now switch between their favourite songs - whatever the format - and answering calls through the easy clip-on wireless remote fixed to the bike’s left handlebar. The Parrot SK4000 offers the motorcyclist the choice to listen to music via Bluetooth wireless technology (using the A2DP profile), on the FM radio (RDS inside) or from analogue sources via the line-in.

For calling, thanks to Parrot’s multi-speaker voice recognition software, there is no need to record voice tags anymore: the kit automatically recognizes the contact’s name spoken by whoever is using the kit, and makes the call automatically. Also, the unique Text To Speech feature (voice synthesis) on the Parrot SK4000 reads contact names from the user’s phonebook through the earpiece and is also able to name radio stations to help the driver identify the correct station.
