It looks like PNDs - Personal Navigation Devices - are becoming a hot trend in the other side of the world (Asia) and for that exact reason Panasonic lanched 3 new models today, more specifically the CN-MP150D, CN-MP180D and MP150D which are part of the Strada Pocket series.
Similar characteristics in the 3 PNDs include a 5-inch VGA LED Backlight screen, a microSD slot that supports a 8GB card, and being able to work with Google Maps (and Yahoo as well). As for the differences, the CN-MP1500 doesn’t feature a TV tuner, while on the contrary, the CN-MP180D has a 1Seg TV Tuner. The third and best model comes with the TV Tuner and also VICS for traffic information.

They seem to prefer LiMo instead. In fact they love it so much that they have announced a daring project which involves creating nine new Linux phones. KDDI and Immersion Corp will work on those phones but LiMo is also hoping for other important manufacturers to be impressed by the initiative. What about you? Would you buy a cheaper touchscreen smartphone running on Linux? Can’t wait to see when these new phones will be officially unveiled.
