Are you still hooked on the Palm Centro? If you want it in a more colorful color, you should go to a Sprint store near you and ask around for the colored Palms. Besides red, black and pink, Sprint is going to offer it in vibrant rose and olive green. That sounds simply too god to be true. I always wanted an olive green handset unless I didn’t.
The new colors will be available starting with October 19, and they are based on fashion trends forecasted by the color experts of the Pantone Fashion Color Reports for fall 2008 and spring 2009. The new colors are available for new prices. Instead of the low $99.99 the Palms will cost a lower $79.99 if you get one until January 10.

And we thought Palm could resist the tug at decking up their devices with sparkling jewels or shiny metals. But thankfully, you many never have to set your eyes on this piece in real life unless you rub shoulders with celebrities on an everyday basis, as this custom jewel-caked Palm Centro designed by Ed Hardy will be handed out to the hosts and performers backstage on the Primetime Emmys night. But if you still are perverse enough to wrap your tech in ice, Ed Hardy is planning to release a slew of crystal faceplates and decals for your BlackBerrys, iPhones, and whatnots, so hold it in until then.

I am not sure if this can get any excitement out of you guys, but here it is. Going by the leaked pictures we see above, Palm might be outing the Centro CDMA version on Sprint in two new colors to complement to AT&T’s cool blue and the cutesy pink that it is available in now. These pictures show the Palm Centro clad in green and rose hues and they don’t look odd at all. In fact, it seems as though this little guy can pull off any color thrown at it and do that with aplomb. Still, we would be more happy if threw in a new feature here and there but all we could get is the latest ROM that’s got GMaps preinstalled. No idea when or how this will pop up, but we will be here to tell you.

Here’s a surprise. AT&T has cut the Palm Centro price. The new price is $69.99, which is a whole $30 lower than before. So if you are into the Palm thing just go down there and get one now. Or better yet, since AT&T stores are swamped with anxious iPhone fans, go get one online.

For $299, you will be able to enjoy the Centro and the reasons that made it successful without the hassle of a carrier plan and the freedom to choose the network you want. The specs will remain the same as the AT&T’s version with quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/900 Mhz network support, EDGE speeds, Bluetooth, and instant messaging, but the liberated version will get a gray number pad instead of AT&T’s green.

Woohoo, the Palm Centro is coming! Who’s expecting it anyway? Why is Verizon doing this anyway? Is this how they answer to AT&T and their 3G iPhone plans. Cute marketing strategy! And they are supposed to launch it this Friday, on June 13th. Even cuter.
