One of the many awaited smartphones this season, the Samsung i8910 or the Omnia HD, has quietly joined the ranks on Orange in the United Kingdom. The Omnia HD was scheduled for a release in Italy last month and it is now the turn of the English folk to enjoy high-def videos and snap top-quality pictures with its 8-megapixel camera. The Symbian S60-powered handset is available for 97.50 GBP on a 34.25 GBP monthly plan with a one-and-a-half year contract or 293.50 GBP with a 24.46GBP per month contract. These prices hold good only if the i8910 is ordered online and be ready to cough up an extra 5GBP per month if you plan on visiting a store nearby. If you don’t what makes this cellphone that expensive, head over here to know what the specs look like.

Samsung seems to have finally realized that it would be foolish not to use the successful “Omnia” moniker and has decided to use it after all with the Samsung i8910. The i8910 is now scheduled for a release in Italy as the Omnia HD, although Samsung may still go ahead and release it as the i8910 HD in other markets. Making the event a bit more special is Samsung’s colloboration with the movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which will be opening the same week, for the release of Omnia HD in Italy. As we already know, the the i8910 is similar in most features to Samsung Omnia with a few worthy upgrades, the most notable being an 8-megapixel lens instead of 5 megapixels and the use of AMOLED technology instead of TFT for its 3.2-inch touchscreen display. We still have no idea whether it will be able to record vidoes in 720p, but considering the HD tag that is attached to its name, we are betting it will.
Look for it to land in Italy on April 29 at an undisclosed price.

The Omnia HD is probably one of the best phones available at the MWC and one of the best Samsung handsets released so far. We’ve heard the rumors and now it’s time we checked out the official specs.
The Omnia HD is the first full-touch Symbian phone made by Samsung and it’s the first phone capable of recording 720p HD video. It’s also has the biggest AMOLED screen in the mobile business so far, which means you should definitely give it a try if you get your hands on it.
And here’s the features list you were waiting for:

I bet you’re tired with all the phones Samsung has been throwing at us lately. But you shouldn’t be. It’s good to know you’ll have where to choose from. The Omnia HD for example will be a great phone and it appears it will be the first phone in the world to record 720p video. The feature is not confirmed yet but we’re hoping it will be in just a few days. The Omnia HD is also said to sport a 3.7-inch AMOLED display but we’re going to need confirmation for those features too.

Samsung has already displayed big signs with the Omnia HD and the BeatDJ in Spain and we’ve already shown you that. Today we get to show you the official picture of the Samsung Omnia HD and of the BeatDisc. The BeatDisc is a different handset than the BeatDJ but we don’t have all its details yet.

Samsung is really into this MWC thing. Not only has the company leaked lots of handsets in the past few weeks but it looks like that it started a massive advertising campaign on location too. Billboards presenting the Ultra Touch, the Omnia HD and the Beat DJ have appeared in Spain. While you’re probably familiar with the Ultra Touch by now, the Omnia HD and Beat DJ might seem like totally new handsets. Only they really aren’t the Omnia HD has been already announced under the name of Acme i8910 while the Beat DJ is actually the M7600. What else has Samsung prepared for us?
