If the above supposedly leaked release list is to be believed, we may be seeing a plethora of Windows Mobile powered phones hitting AT&T at various points in the none too distant future.
It seems that in October we will be seeing the HTC Fortress and Samsung Epix while November and December will debut the LG Monoco and HP Obsidian, respectively. Now while it doesn’t actually state it, I think it is to be assumed that they will all be running Windows Mobile 6.5 and not an earlier version (as if I even had to tell you).

A new iPAQ seems to be heading to AT&T, at least according to the FCC. The K3 is going to have GSM and HSPA support for the 850/1900MHz bands which means that AT&T is the designated carrier. And to make it even clearer, there’s AT&T SKU written all over the ID label available right here. The K3 Obsidian is probably going to run Windows Mobile but we have no idea when it’s coming out. Should we simply assume that HP will launch it sometime in October?

The last time we saw it, the iPaQ K3 was what you would have expected if it were to compete with others in the smartphone category, but things seems to have changed slightly now and we are not sure if this will give the Obisidian an edge over its competitors. Apparently, HP has dropped the standard 2.8-inch TFT touchscreen display for a smaller, 2.46-inch 320 x 240 pixel AMOLED display and the camera is bettered now to a 3.2 megapixel lens against the 2-megapixel snapper listed on the initial leak. Other specs such as its GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, full QWERTY keypad, WinMo 6.5 OS, and microSD slot are still intact as are the 528MHz CPU with 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. The release date of November 30 is also unchanged, so you’ll have to wait till then to lay your hands on this smartphone. Skip over for a few more pictures…

Tagging along with the recently leaked LG Monaco is yet another smartphone which is on its way to AT&T, the HP iPAQ K3 Obsidian. While the Monaco is a touchscreen device with a slide-out QWERTY keypad, the Obsidian goes for the bar look but packing a similar QWERTY keypad and a 2.8-inch touchscreen display. There’s Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, with a microSD slot and microUSB connectivity. Also included are a proximity sensor and a light sensor. The usual 3G, HSDPA, and WiFi also make an appearance and the device runs Windows Mobile 6.5. AT&T will be releasing the iPAQ K3 in the final quarter of 2009, November 30 to be specific, so look to us to get you more on this upcoming device until then.
