Google Voice is not here yet for the masses so while we’re waiting for access we might as well talk about it. It looks like a new feature is now available to anyone currently using Google Voice and I don’t mean that rumored number porting. Google Voice will let you change your number if you choose to do so.

Simply go to the Phones menu under Settings and change your number for a one-time fee of $10. The best part of it is that Google is offering you a number picker tool that will help you match words with numbers and check for their availability. The old number will be available for an extra 90 days so you’ll have plenty of time to get used to your new phone. What do you say? Ready to make a change?

Palm Pre sells over 300,000 units

It’s no secret that the Palm Pre is a highly sought after handset, especially considering it’s running Palm’s intuitive new webOS. But one may ask themselves just how sought after is Palm’s comeback device, let’s take a look.

According to latest reports, the Palm Pre has sole over 300,000 units since earlier this month. Of course, this number is much less than those of the iPhone 3GS but considering the Pre is a first-gen device they are still reputable numbers. Furthermore, reports say that Palm is increasing production to 15,000 units a day to prepare themselves for further sales.

What do you guys think, will the Palm Pre 2 or even 3 be able to oust the iPhone? Only time will tell.

It seems that AT&T aren’t the only ones making it through the recession unscatched. Apple has recently announced that their profits for the second quarter, which ended March 28th, were in the range of $1.21 billion.

Considering the slight decline in Mac sales, one would think that these numbers would be a bit lower. Well, Apple attributes their success to the iPod and iPhone stating that these strong sales are what helped them report their best non-holiday quarter ever.

These numbers are a surprise to even experts in the field, it’s clear that while everyone expected Apple to do well, they didn’t think it would be this well.

As of July 2006, it was estimated that there are over 2.4 billion cell phone users worldwide. That’s a big number, right? Well, take this into consideration; In the month of March, there were 15.6 million new cellphone users in India. That’s just one month alone.

Now this isn’t a completely random expansion as Indian service providers have begun expanding their networks to a larger portion of country.

Honestly though, 15.6 million new cellphone users in 1 month? That’s just nuts!
