Just like we said earlier on today, Sony was indeed getting ready to launch the new Reader Daily Edition. So let’s see what this reader is all about! You can expect a 7-inch touchscreen and AT&T 3G modem to help you with your reading. The Reader Daily Edition will be available in December for just $400 but 3G access will be free. Sony has partnered up with the New York Public Library for the launch of the Reader but you’ll get plenty of content from a lot of other sources too. So what do you say? Are you more inclined to pick up a Reader Daily Edition than a Kindle?

It seems that a 15 year old girl by the name of Alexa Longueira was minding her own business walking down the street texting without looking infront of her. While looking down at her phone she couldn’t see the open manhole that she then proceeded to fall into.
Despite her only scraping her back and shoulders, she remained physically unharmed. However, her mother told officials that she was mentally harmed as the sewer was ‘putrid’ and the fact that she lost a shoe while down there. This has lead the family to announce they will sue due to the incident.
I can just see it now, a new law being passed that prohibits youths from texting while walking. Then again, this is no ones fault other than the teenagers.

In 2008 and in Q1 2009 AT&T has added 75 new New York metro cell sites. Was that good for you? Did you feel any changes? During the last 15 months AT&T subscribers living in the New Jersey, New York and Long Island areas should have noticed significant improvements. That doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone is absolutely happy with AT&T’s services. And we can’t but wonder when will other markets suffer similar upgrades?
Here’s what AT&T has been working on in 2008:

It seems that the Boy Genius Report has recently gotten word that AT&T stores in the North East have gotten shipments of refurbished 16GB iPhone 3Gs to be sold for $149.
It seems that these iPhones are only available to those starting a new line with a 2 year contract and are only allowed 1 per customer. Still, half off the normal retail price is still a damn good deal.
Anyways, BGR says that they aren’t 100% sure this tip is true, they have a pretty good hunch it is.

Nokia has just brought the 5800 XpressMusic NAM version to its US Nokia stores. We’ve already told you that didn’t we? But it looks like there’s something wrong with the device as Nokia has decided to pull the handset from its New York store. And that something is pretty big too. These 5800 NAM handsets seem not to have any working 3G which lead to quite a few of returns. The Nokia 5800 NAM is not in stock anymore and we assume all phones are going to the repair and patch shop. When will they be available again? We’ll let you know!

It seems as AT&T is learning with other companies, and decided to create a new store that really provides a good experience to their customers, and not the same old “buy this and go home” scene. The store is located in Albany, NY, more specifically at 1762 Central Avenue in Colonie.
What kind of unusual features does the AT&T Colonie store has to offer?
- Productivity solutions thanks to the AT&T staff teaching how to use e-mail function and Microsoft applications on PDAs, smartphones, and other cellphones.
- 6 demo units of the iPhone
- 2 flat-panel HD screens to use with other AT&T products

Check out this concept car from Chrysler. The ecoVoyager features a futuristic design and true to its name runs off a lithium-ion battery pack and an advanced hydrogen fuel cell. Chrysler claims a range of up to 300 miles. It has a distinctive design where the front and back doors open in opposite directions.
While it looks a bit funny at first, it does seem sensible. More pics in the extended entry.
