WikiServer for iPhones Released

On the web, a lot of us base our references on Wiki sites when we need supporting information and references. Now while you can do that from the comfort of a standard PC with Internet connection, Corporate Smalltalk Consulting LTD. unveils WikiServer, the first full-featured mobile Wiki server application for the iPhone and iPod touch.

This mobile Wiki server is a fully functional Wiki hosted on your iPhone, or iPod touch. As you know a Wiki allows you to store, edit, and display content that you, or others can change. Content can be as simple as words, or more complex such as formatted text, up to including audio/video, PDF, and JavaScript.

Big information from any small device anywhere. That is probably the best way to define this new WikiServer app for the iPhones. And with the majority of people these days looking for information and references on certain subjects, this new technology is definitely a welcome addition for better reference and knowledge enriching needs.

iPhone is now a Health Buff

We are all aware that the iPhone can be used for calling, playing games and taking photos. But now it looks like iPhone use has added another dimension as far as mobile phone use is concerned. The iPhone can now be used as a means of monitoring your heart and tracking your health.

All of this was made possible by SMHEART LINK, a highly-anticipated new technology that is poised to bring unparalleled health and fitness capabilities to Apple(R) iPhone and iPod(R) touch users. For the first time ever, a technology is now available that allows the iPhone to double as a heart monitor and fitness tracking system that actually listens to a person’s heart.

In addition to the iPhone and iPod touch, SMHEART LINK can be compatible with other smartphones, PCs or other Wi-Fi enabled devices. SMHEART LINK is compatible with a growing list of heart monitor chest straps including some from fitness leaders such as Polar, Garmin, Nike, Reebok, Timex Ironman, New Balance and Numetrex. It is also compatible with biking sensors to track speed, cadence and power (watts).

Now it seems that the iPhone is indeed something anyone should have. It has become a multipurpose gadget and its marketability just went a notch higher.

contact_lens2.jpg

This kind of stuff only used to be in science fiction. Not anymore. A group of University of Washington engineers is developing contact lenses which can, get this, display the details of whoever is calling you on your mobile phone! The display would be superimposed on the outside world. BUT, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The technology, if and when fully-developed, could be used by drivers to display speed of the vehicle, pilots to view the plane’s condition while flying and yes, video game developers for new games which would definitely beat virtual reality as we know it. The developers aim to enable web surfing in through the contact lenses too. The team was already able to develop a prototype although a fully-functioning device would probably not be unveiled anytime soon.
