We’ve seen a special limited Nokia N96 edition being launched this summer and now we have another special edition of this Nokia phone. This one is dedicated to Bruce Lee. Remember him?
The phone comes with a figurine but unfortunately it’s available in China only. This N96 cost $1286, but when it comes to Bruce Lee I guess some people would pay any price.

The Nokia N96 is closer than it seems. It will be soon available for purchase and it’s said to cost 550 Euro or about $792 USD. Considering that it will have a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, a 2.8 inch display and 16GB of memory, you’ll find the price to be reasonable enough. But there’s more. GPS and A-GPS, DVB-H mobile TV, WiFi and 3.5G connectivity and FM radio with RDS.

Nokia has finally decided to release the long overdue and much talked about N96, which is heading straight for the United Kingdom before it starts spreading its magic elsewhere in the world. This latest Nseries device can now be preordered on the Nokia UK website and is priced at £535 including taxes (about $963), a bit steep perhaps but might be worth every penny, considering what the consumer will be taking home. The N96 has a 2.8-inch that manages to look gorgeous and humongous at the same time without the aid of a touchscreen function, HSDPA support, WiFi, aGPS, 16GB of internal memory with a microSD slot for the insatiable type, a 5-megapixel camera from Carl Zeiss, which seems almost outdated now that 8 megapixel lens are in, and a DVB-H receiver for on-the-go TV action. Not shabby at all, don’t you think?

Little did I know today, when I started talking about advertising and publicity in the mobile world, that I’ll continue to do that. If we checked out earlier Verizon’s way of doing advertising, it’s turn for Nokia now. And what a site we we got immersed in!

The support pages are in place. The interactive demonstrations are up. And the full user manual is ready for grabs. All these point to just one thing - an imminent release for the much-awaited Nokia N78, may be just a matter of days or weeks.
The N78 was officially announced in February at MWC ‘08 along with another behemoth that is the N96. The N78 is an all-in-one device that combines music, photography, navigation, and productivity into an attractive sleek and stylish design. In addition to integrated aGPS technology with Nokia Maps and Geotagging support, the N78 also has a 3.2-megapixel camera and a card slot to raise storage up to 8GB via microSD cards. The phone houses a 2.4-inch QVGA display capable of 16 million colors. And of course, how can we forget its list of connectivity options including WiFi, HSDPA, and Bluetooth, all meshed into Symbian OS 3rd Edition FP2.
With an estimated price tag of $550 before taxes, this is one phone that will be worth every penny.

I can’t count the number of times we talked about the Nokia N96 in the last couple of months. Now, in time with the Mobile World Congress, Nokia finally officially announces the next flagship model of the N-series, the Nokia N96. The handset is optimized for video and TV viewing. In fact, in some territories, the integrated DVB-H receiver could be used to watch live TV broadcast and it even sports a kickstand at the back for hands-free viewing. The Nokia N96 has a 2.8″ screen and 16GB of internal memory, which is expandable with the addition of microSD cards. The N96 supports various and common video formats such a MP4, Flash, and WMV. It features a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and can capture DVD-quality video at 30 fps. It also has WLAN and HSDPA support as well as integrated A-GPS which lets you geo-tag your images. The Nokia N96 will be released on Q3 2008 with a MSRP of US$800 sans taxes.

The last time Nokia put up a countdown timer on its site, the N82 was born. This time, with the accompanying MWC itinerary revealing nothing, I would wager on the N96, recently leaked by an irked German, and/or the S60 Touch. Either way, I would love to see the unbelievably packed N96 become a reality or even Nokia take on Apple with a far more superior device than the iPhone. But hey, with roughly 30 hours to go, we won’t have to wait too long, do we?

You really better not cross with the Germans. After the much heated, much publicized outcry in Germany when Nokia closed its plant in the country and laid off 2,300 people, you’d think it’ll all level off when the politicians took to boycotting the mobile phone brand. Well, guess what, it’s far from over. Hostile public smashing of Nokia devices aren’t enough, it seems the web master for the Nokia Germany web site has also leaked the specs for the Nokia N96. Here they are:
• Quadband EDGE
• Dualband HSDPA 850/2100 MHz
• DVB-H Class C
• 92 cc volume
• 125 gram weight
• 103 x 55 x 18 mm
• 16 GB internal memory AND a microSD slot; 24 GB total if you spend an extra $80
• 950 mAh battery
• 6.1 cm (2.8 inch) 320×240 display with 16 million colors
• 3.5 mm headphone jack
• WiFi (802.11b/g)

It feels like it wasn’t long ago when the Nokia N95 was released. I remember the thrill Nokia fans were emanating and it was infectious. But just like every other digital good, the Nokia N95 would be replaced as its company’s most-prized device. Just recently, supposed pictures of the Nokia N96 were leaked in the Internet. It seems Nokia drew parallels in design with the N81. It’s also clear that from the pics, this model has a 5-megapixel camera. They’re sure damn convincing, if you ask me. But hey, take everything you see on the Internet with a grain of salt, okay? So what do you think — truth or hoax?
