Remember N-Gage? The least involved of us barely do since Nokia has kept pushing the first access back. Last Tuesday, Nokia has finally launched the N-Gage to N81 users before rolling the service out to its other handset models. Other than the N-Gage, Nokia has also launched its media sharing site, “Share on Ovi,” which allows users to share videos and photos.

Nokia announced that Nokia N81 users would get a pre-release preview of the new Nokia N-Gage (called the Nokia N-Gage First Access) before Christmas. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. According to the N-Gage blog:
Unfortunately, as can sometimes happen in software development, unexpected difficulties can occur. We have been doing an internal run with more than 1,000 global testers this week, and during this process we uncovered an issue we feel we need to address. Overall, the games and service are working smoothly, but because of this issue, we feel we could not release N-Gage First Access before the holidays as planned.
Don’t make us wait too long, Nokia. We might forget all about N-Gage in a few months’ time, after all.

Compatible with 3G networks, the phone also offers wireless LAN connectivity. Nokia is touting a new 3D multimedia menu on the N81, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

There has been several advertisement coming out of Google concerning a new Nokia N81. From the pictures we see, we can quickly conclude that it is both a mobile phone and media player rolled into one. Of course a lot of mobile devices have already incorporated this functionality but this is quite intriguing as no details have been released about it yet.
Everyone has to see for himself though as this is one of those viral campaigns wherein users are given clues about an upcoming product, but never really given the complete set of information.
As seen on the site, there is a sort of countdown timer. Thus, we will all have to wait and expect some sort of details or press release about this product in a few weeks (or months) from now. The domain has been registered to a company in the U.K. known as Lightmaker, they appear to be a web design company, so no info can be gleaned from this info.
Anyway, you can see the site for yourself here.
