PocketBook E-Readers Now in the US

Starting today, two models of the Pocket e-book reader will be available in the US market courtesy of Brain Plaza International. The two models are the Pocketbook 301+ and the Pocketbook 360° which will be available for sale as well at the PocketBookreader site. The Pocketbooks 301+ features a 6” Vizplex display and a 512MB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB with a SD memory card. It runs on a Linux platform and supports majority of e-book formats plus MP3 music playback. It retails for $275.

The Pocketbook 360° on the other hand is a new model and features a 5” display with G-sensor that allows automatic orientation of pages in portal or landscape modes. It comes in black and ivory colors with a hard protective shell that should give it some flare. It retails for $239.99.

Casio CA001 Touchscreen Phone

Touchscreen is the craze these days and Casio has the iPhone to thank for coming up with their new concept. Although we have seen such a concept in the Sony Ericsson P990 series some years back, it seems that new phones today require it if they want to be noticed.

Casio may not be a major player in the mobile business but it has its own device competing for positioning. The Casio CA001 is a touchscreen phone that also allows keypad interface as well.

The Casio CA001 looks like a typical clam shell phone or a touchscreen input phone. It also features a 5 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a microSD slot. Buttons along the side of the phone suggest that Casio is gearing up for the music capabilities of this phone. It is also capable of wireless music playback with the right headphones.
