All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

How long can you operate on your average netbook battery? The previous record for a MSI Wind was 13 hours out of a 6-cell battery. I say previous since the absolutely new record is 25 hours. How was that pulled off? Well a 9-cell battery is responsible for all that and you can check it up in the video above. The test is unofficial and Battery Eater was set to the lowest setting. On a regular day-to-day use a MSI Wind with a 9-cell battery could pull off an impressive 18 hours of ongoing activity which should be more than enough for your needs. After all, you do need to sleep, right?

MSI Wind Gets Big Unofficial Battery

msi-wind-details Gizmodo reports that a 9-cell, 7800mAh battery for the MSI Wind is now available for preorder from a third-party vendor, if that doesn’t disturb you a single bit. It is priced at $180, offering a rather nice upgrade to the battery life – roughly six hours of run time according to the site’s calculations.

The battery weighs a whole pound, though, and it won’t be too nice when all you want is a small ultraportable. If you do pack an Asus or other netbooks, you can check out their other, often bigger batteries.
