  • There is no doubt that iPhones are some of the most technology advanced phones today, but did you know that new evidence is showing some interesting new features on the horizon for the Apple phone? According to some reports, patent applications for the company include things like RFID tag readers, fingerprint identification technology as well as haptic feedback.

The haptic feedback will allow users to use their phones or MP3 players without actually using the screen, a good option for driving. The RFID reader will be added to those phones with touch screens. They will imbed these readers in the iPhone or iPod to get the phone into corporate and industrial areas. The fingerprint identification will help users to use each of their fingers to access different information on the device.

  • One thing that most mobile phone owners want is to make their phone unique. This can be done by either the outer covering or the contents of their device. Ringtones are certainly included in this mix and while some would download them from popular ringtone sites, there are some who would rather do it themselves.

To do that, they would need a special kind of software. Thus for the Palm Pre, a new software is likewise unveiled to create custom ringtones to their device.

Users can create ringtones from songs purchased from online stores that include Amazon MP3 and the iTunes Music Store with direct drag and drop functionality. Ringtone Expressions give Pre users the flexibility of sending ringtones to their Pre directly over USB or wirelessly via SMS.

Ringtone Expressions is now available at their website and has an introductory subscription price of $1.99 per month once the trial period of one month lapses.

  • Motorola Z8m Comes to Town

    motorola-z8m_thumb.jpg

I am not a huge fan of slider phones, but I have to admit I took more than 5 minutes to check the new 3G Motorola Z8m out. This slider is a little bit special than its competition in terms of design. It’s meant to adjust to the shape of your face. I don’t know if this feature will really influence the quality of our phone calls but it certainly is really innovative at least. The Z8m is the third Z8 version and will be launched in Korea. The starting price is somewhere around $500.

This is what the new edition of Motorola Z8 has to offer: the upgraded HSDPA - from 3.2 to 7.2Mbps, the regular QVGA 2.2 inch display and the 2 megapixel camera. There’s of course the one touch MP3 player, the Bluetooth and USB 2.0 for data transfers and integrated and very useful GPS systems. As for space you have an 80MB internal memory available to start from and as you go along getting more pictures and music, the micro SD option that lets you store up to 4GB of data.

What could you possible want more from Motorola? A drop in price maybe.
