eBuddy Debuts on the iPhone

Back in May, eBuddy was released mainly for the Android mobile platform. However today it makes its formal debut and compatibility to the iPhone offering a new app that will give users to ability to communicate with others using AIM, Facebook Chat, ICQ, Gtalk, Windows Live Messenger and similar communication apps.

Actually, the eBuddy app was already at the App Store as early as last week. It was not until now when it was promoted, bringing stiff competition to the likes of Nimbuzz and fring .

eBuddy differentiates its support for Apple’s Push Notification Service, which allows a third-party server to ping the service in order to push out notifications to your device over a persistent IP connection.

Four new game apps are scheduled to be released by the fourth quarter of the year, titles familiar under the Activision Publishing Inc. Most of these games are quite familiar in the modern day gaming industry particularly Guitar Hero 5 and Tony Hawk: RIDE. The other two new games made for the mobile phones are Blur and Crash Mutant.

“Activision titles have proven to be very successful on the mobile platform,” said Dave Anderson, head of business development at Activision Publishing, Inc. “Glu has demonstrated superior studio capabilities in addition to strong deployment and carrier relationships worldwide, and we look forward to continuing to work with their team to bring titles like these to mobile consumers worldwide.”

Already proven to be great draws in the other game consoles like PlayStation, expect these new games to be likewise a hit for Glu Mobile.

Initially, Zoho Mobile was made for the iPhone only. However, Zoho has expanded the compatibility of this software to cater to other platforms as well. Now Zoho Mobile is compatible with the Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Symbian mobile platforms. Now, users can access Zoho’s on-line collaborative productivity applications from any of these mobile devices.

    ARM and Ubuntu have announced that they are working on a new Ubuntu version for the AMRv7 architecture, including the Cortex-A8 and A9 processors. The new version will get you low-power consumption and integrated graphics in a new platform for mobile devices. This new platform will be available for netbooks, internet tablet and other mobile devices excepting cell phones starting with April 2009. We’ll tell you more next year!

    Ericsson’s U500 Mobile Platform

    Ericsson_logo.jpegEricsson, yep, the other half of Sony for Sony Ericsson, has unveiled a mobile platform called the U500. The Ericsson U500 was designed in an effort to help manufacturers develop multimedia devices with multitasking capabilities. The platform is omprised of three ARM 11 CPUs (high performance microprocessors) as well as hardware accelerators. In addition to those, it also comes with a graphics processor. The U500 Mobile Platform could be used in mobile phones and other internet-capable devices. It can enable various features including 3D user-interface and gaming, CD-quality audio, 12-megapixel camera, high-resolution video for mobile TV, and high-quality camcorder. The Ericsson U500 will launch early 2009.
