Most iPhone owners would love to discover new ways to enhance their iPhones. While these mobile devices from Apple are known to be able to play videos in certain formats, portable TV tuners may be one thing lacking. Similar to the desktop PC, a TV tuner may be needed and that is exactly what this USB clip aims to deliver.
Called the SEG Clip, this USB clip from Japan allows users to enjoy TV viewing right from their very own iPhones. The SEG Clip supports 1SEG, a TV standards used in Japan, Peru and Brazil. One catch is that is should be hooked on to a PC’s USB port that will thereafter allow the user to stream digital TV data to their iPhone via WiFi connection.
Just in case you cannot finish watching the TV program, you can get a software called the TVPlayer which can save TV programs for later viewing. The program is free over at the Japan App Store.
Compatible with the iPhone 3G, 3GS and the iPod Touch, the SEG Clip will be released by the end of the month in Japan and will carry a $70 price tag.

Once a software becomes irritating and fails to live up to the expectations of companies, you can expect that they will be replaced soon. And that is exactly what happened to Winscribe digital dictation systems as two of the leading Scottish Law Firms have replaced them with BigHand, a leading voice productivity specialist for the global legal community.
MacRoberts is currently in the process of implementing BigHand to 300 users across Edinburgh and Glasgow, and Simpson & Marwick has already completed its implementation to 175 users across 7 offices.
The final component in our decision to switch was the lack of support we received for Winscribe; it was very awkward to get a resolution as we had no direct access to the developer. BigHand’s implementation and support have been first class. “
Users prefer the BigHand interface and we have had such positive feedback, it is really great to deliver an IT project that makes such a difference to users’ lives - it’s not often that you receive such a positive response to an IT project. The final piece of the jigsaw is that we will be deploying BigHand for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile in the next couple of months.”
Well, that is business for you. If you cannot live up to the expectations and needs of a company, you are as good as gone. And in Winscribe’s case, they seem to be sorely lacking in this area. And if they don’t shape up, they may just find themselves being dominated by BigHand as far as preference is concerned.

Have the gifts of technology truly gone out of hand? As far as understanding the benefits and enumerating their benefits, it seems that owners have failed to put the fine line between honesty and cheating. Worst, the scenario only makes us look like spoon-fed individuals who may at some point act like robots. In short, the robust influx of mobile devices and the Internet seem to have swayed us in the way of failing to make use of our cognitive knowledge. We are unaware that are building cheaters among ourselves.
The study made by Common Sense Media is helpful. But seriously, we all see it today. There are things such as plagiarism, data storage and even leaked answers to exams that can be easily hidden and distributed via the web and mobile devices. In short, we are forgetting the ethical way of learning, only focusing on goals such as passing and honors as the main objective.
Kids have always found ways to cheat, but the tools they have today are more powerful than ever. In this poll, kids reveal that they’re texting each other answers during tests, using notes and information stored on their cell phones during tests, and downloading papers from the Internet to turn in as their own work. Because the digital world is distant, hard to track, and mostly anonymous, kids are less likely to see the consequences of their online actions, especially when they feel they won’t get caught.
With this in mind, have we been victims of our own discoveries? While we cannot stop technology from evolving, the human effort of knowing when and when not to use these technologies should be made clear. It is either this or we are making the next generation look like dumb individuals who may be relying too much on gadgets and advancements.
