Like you can see on the image, the USB ports have plenty of space between them which makes it easy to use, and the main point - there won’t be any blocked ports. Since there are 3 ports you can recharge 3 devices at the same time - that is the usefulness part. In addition to the USB interface, there is also Mini-B USB.

So Firefox is coming to the mobile world. Sure it’s only the Alpha version and we might be in for a longer trip to the final mobile version. But that’s the way to go, baby steps.
What’s surprising is the device that’s going to get the Alpha. It’s not even a phone! It’s Nokia’s N810 open-source internet tablet which will receive the Alpha some time next week. Firefox Mobile is based on Firefox 3 and it will have the smart URL bar and support for various add-ons. Get ready to enjoy the Alpha! The Beta is arriving in 2009. As I said, baby steps!

It was only a few weeks ago when we heard that Mozilla will launch their Firefox Mobile browser sometime in 2010. We were rather surprised to hear that we’ll have to wait about two years to get a mobile version of one of the most popular Internet browsers created so far.
But it looks like those were only rumors. We have to trust John Lilly who is only the CEO of Mozilla, when he says that the Firefox Mobile Alpha is coming in a few weeks.
We want to make sure that the Web on mobile is more like the Web than what the mobile industry offers today, which is closed, separate networks and not a very good information-getting experience for the user. The first thing is to bring Firefox to mobile devices. We’re working on that, and we’ll see some alphas in a few weeks.
What more do you need? Waiting for the Alpha here!

Mobile browsers built-into your cellphones, PDA’s, and even your MP3 players (iPod Touch) have changed the outlook of a lot of people when it comes to mobile devices. A lot of people have finally realized the potential of this technology. Now, browsers in mobile devices have very limited capabilities, however, a lot of features are slowly being added into it and in fact, websites are changing their pages to tailoring it to the mobile browser market.
It is then no surprise when ABI research, a leading market research firm focused on the impact of emerging technologies on global consumer and business markets, reported that the mobile browser market will probably grow to 1.5 Billion units by 2013.
The mobile browsers won’t probably be able to catch up to the PC-based browsers, but its definitely getting there. As mentioned, the things that are hindering mobile browsers, are its limitation, like the absence of important plug-ins such as Flash, AJAX, and the memory constraints of many phones.
ABI Research’s new study, The Mobile Browser Market analyzes the market for mobile browsing, examining the primary commercial offerings from independent browser vendors as well as evaluating the growing important of open-source solutions such as Webkit. The report also looks at the push towards web applications and the use of widgets for mobile devices.

Relevantis unveiled the first advertising platform supporting paid icons for interactive maps and navigation systems. The platform essentially places branded icons on the map, allowing customers to interact with advertisers at the touch of a button. The map publisher ends up getting a cut.
The platform supports placing an icon on the map, which the user can then interact with in a rich manner. You may receive a coupon from an advertiser, allowing you to call them directly or get directions. Advertisers are charged based on the number of impressions their icon receives, or the number of actions (an action can be click-for-coupon) enabled.
Not just mobile phone maps and in-car navigation systems, the platform works with desktop/online map products as well.

If you are at the Game Developers Conference 2008 in San Francisco, you might have noticed the increasing efforts going on in the mobile gaming space. With a host of games on the N-Gage platform, Nokia is making its presence felt yet again. Some of the new titles include The Dark Knight, SPEED RACER and Super Slam Ping Pong by Glu Mobile; DChoc Café(TM) Solitaire 12-Pack, DChoc Café(TM) Sudoku and DChoc Café(TM) Hold’ Em Poker by Digital Chocolate and Worms World Party by THQ Wireless.
Nokia Games Publishing will also be bringing us Yamake, Disk Dagger and Fallen Idol, a detective adventure game. Anybody know if Digger (yeah, that classic old PC game) is available for mobile phones - specifically the Nokia S60 series? I’ve been looking for it all over.
The GDC 2008 will be on show tomorrow as well, so you can also catch a series of mobile lectures and case studies by Nokia executives. All the action will be at the North Hall of the Moscone Convention Center.
