We were left wondering when the new iMacs and Apple Minis were going to be released after Apple unveiled its new line of MacBooks. And it looks like November 10 is the day we were waiting for. That’s when people say the new desktops will be released. That means we have 10 days to release lots of rumors surrounding the features of the new Minis and their prices. Stick around!

We’ve seen the Mini 12 before. It’s a bigger Dell netbook. One I would actually use for my daily work. But is it going to be launched by Dell anytime soon? It looks like netbook lovers in Japan are going to see it coming soon.

The new 12-inch will get you either a 60GB or a 80GB HDD drive, and a choice of OS between XP, Vista or Ubuntu Linux. Would we want Windows Vista Basic in a netbook? After Japan, the Mini 12 is going to hit the USA by the end of November and it will cost late than $600.

Mac Mini: To Be or Not to Be?

Would you have bought a Mac Mini? Would you buy one if Apple reinvented it? Would you buy one if it looked like that? Well why not get a laptop. If a mini desktop looked like that I’d definitely choose an Apple laptop.

Anyhow, we don’t know what’s happening to the Minis from Apple. Sure they kinda look cute and they are highly portable. But they aren’t best sellers. So it’s either that Apple is cutting the whole Mini business or the Cupertino-based company is creating a brand new Mini.

HP has been involved in the netbook business for quite a while. After its 8.9 inch Mini-Note 2133 we’ve analyzed in the past, we have just seen the new HP Mini 1000. Well actually we haven’t really seen it, since it’s briefly shown on HP’s site (check image above). The link doesn’t point to anywhere yet but that’s going to change soon. We know the HP Mini 1000 is a 10 inch netbook and its starting price is $399. We’ll be waiting for the hot specs then! Maybe someone… cough… HP… cough… should write up a nice press release about it!

LG Xnote Mini - Only at Korea

Remember the small LG notebooks released last year during September and October? In case you can’t recall, I’ll refresh your memory by presenting the R200 and E200 – both have a small form factor and a humble 12.1-inch display screen.

In addition to those 2 models, LG has recently come up with a new netbook named Xnote Mini. As the name suggests, the mini computer has a tiny LCD screen that only measures 10-inches.

It’s not my birthday yet to come around offering chocolate and drinks, so I’ll just throw a Mini Chocolate your way to digest. This Chocolate isn’t a smaller LG version but another mini PC. When I say mini PC I mean mini desktop. We’ve had more than enough netbooks.

What’s so special about this Mini Chocolate that’s worth mentioning? It’s a desktop featuring a 1.6 Atom processor with support for up to 2GB of RAM, four USB ports, two SATA sockets and one IDE socket. If needed there’s room for a slot-loading optical drive. You have a choice of three colors, regular black, white and red.

The manufacturer is Ripple from Korea, and it will charge about $200 for every unit. Let me see if I get this right. I get to buy a mini empty case? Well if I don’t count the processor…

  • Let me introduce to you a little fella I came across called Neon 7 Mini. As his name signifies, he is a miniature version of that mid-range cell phone you are carrying there. Underneath that short 95×42x11mm stature is all muscle with a 1.9 inch TFT touchscreen, a 1.3-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth support, and an mp3 player to groove to your favorite tracks dumped on a T-Flash memory card. This tiny gent is all unlocked and ready to work with GSM850/1800/1900MHz networks. Heat-sensitive buttons that light up when touched and speech synthesis are just some of the other tricks that he has up his sleeves.

Go ahead, make an acquaintance with the little guy over at ThinkGeek at just $199.99
