Also known as iPhone clone, the second version of M8 made by Meizu was recently launched in the Chinese market.While the firmware version remains the same as the original, there have been some significant changes, such as:
- improved radio signal;
- improved support for WAPI wireless and normal WiFi;
- not sure if it includes a GPS and 5-megapixel camera that Meizu mentioned before the launch;
As for the rest, the Meizu M8 will be available in 8GB or 16GB and costs approximately $240. Sadly it won’t be available for purchase on the US.

Meizu will not stop with the M8 and the company is actually planning to launch a new version of the phone. The new M8, or M9, or whatever they’re calling it, will come with features like 3G connectivity, GPS and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash. In other words all the features missing from the first Meizu will make it in the next phone but that shouldn’t impress you. You’ll problem be better off with any other handset.

If you’re not happy with that M8 from Meizu, and why should you, then you might want to try out the M9 which should arrive soon enough. The new model should wear the same firmware that M8 does which means Meizu will take a new approach on the hardware of the M8. The M9 will come in CDMA and TD-SCDMA versions but we have no real specs to play with for now. Would you buy a totally new redesigned Meizu phone?

Looks like Meizu’s iPhone-ripping days aren’t over yet, as the latest news points to two more iPhone clones on the anvil, the M9c and M9t. No, they are not copying the iPhone 3G this time, but these two are the upcoming CDMA and Chinese 3G variations of the much-talked-about M8, which finally saw an official release last month after almost an year of rumors and delays. The M9c will be designed to work CDMA2000 networks with the M9t getting ready to surf the Chinese TD-SCDMA 3G network.
Knowing Meizu, it will be a long time before they even start thinking about a release, but where’s the fun in just launching a knockoff without much ado, eh?
