Despite their high price, Vertu continues to pump out luxury handsets to a market of very, very rich people. Their latest handset is the Vertu Constellation Axyta which was first announced just a few days ago as coming to the European market.
Today, the same phone has made its way through the FCC and is expected to be released in North America sometime in the near future for $10,500.
Features you ask? It probably costs just about as much as your car, that enough for you?

It seems that Vertu isn’t the only one targeting the extremely rich/extremely luxurious crowd as Motorola too has an offering: the Ivory E18, pictured above.
Before the development of the Ivory E18 was called off, it was said to feature a 3MP and a slider with 2 positions, one for just the navigation buttons and one for the full keypad.
As for a price, well, Motorola took a hint from Vertu there too as it was estimated to be close to $3,000. This high price caused with lack of carrier interest led to the phones demise. Does anyone actually buy these?

Vertu has announced yet another luxury handset this time entitled the Ascent Ti.
The Ascent Ti’s body is made almost entirely out of carbon fiber, a material that has been known for being ridiculously strong while maintaining a low weight. While the press release doesn’t state much we’ll just assume that it has the same features of the Ascent Ti that made its way through the FCC over two years ago: a 3MP camera with 8x digital zoom, and Bluetooth.
You didn’t think this handset would be cheap, did you? Good, because Vertu has said it will be available next month with “prices available upon request”. AKA, none of us will be able to afford it.
Sure, carbon fiber matched with lack-luster features is cool and all, but does it have an App Store?

If you’re a fan of luxury phones, you’re going to like this. The iPhone has currently been luxed up by Australian jeweler Peter Aloisson. The result is the iPhone Princess Plus — the world’s most expensive iPhone. The name iPhone Princess Plus came from for 138 of the 318 diamonds one the phone called the princess cut. The other 180 diamonds used the brilliant cut. These diamonds total 17.75 carats and are inlaid on 18k white gold. The price of this sparkling baby? US$176,400. Of course, if you’re just a BIT short on money, an alternative version containing only the brilliant-cut diamonds is available for “only” $66,150. Use this phone together with the $20,000 iPhone Case and you’re a robbery waiting to happen.
Another pic after the jump.
