All The Latest Cell Phone and Mobile Electronics News

You’re in for a deja-vu here. The LG KB770 will remind you of HTC’s Touch HD smartphone when it comes to watching videos on your phone. There’s a big difference though. The LG KB770 comes with a DVB-T tuner which will get you free-to-air digital TV broadcasts. It comes with a 3 inch touchscreen for a great TV watching experience.

Other than that the KB770 has tri-band GSM and WCDMA 2100 support, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSDPA connectivity, but not WiFi support. And there’s not GPS which is really surprising. The 3 megapixel digital camera with autofocus will also come in handy and you get a second camera for video calling. Well we could be impressed but we’d rather disappointed it lacks two major features.

The phone might already be available in Germany and you’ll get it for 449 Euro without a contract.

While this year’s Formula One season has come to an end, the next season is approaching. We’re not interested in what FIA is going to do with the new engine rules but we’re rather keen on checking out LG’s Formula One special edition handset. If there’s ever going to be created! We don’t have the exact details yet but we know that LG has reached an agreement with F1. LG’s Chief Marketing Officer, Dermont Boden said that LG is “looking to develop products in the future with Formula One.” Other F1 themed LG products might be created to and we might not have a handset at all!

In terms of prices, the LG Rhythm at U.S. Cellular only costs $80 after rebate and picking a 1-year or 2-year contract. Yesterday Kodak filled a lawsuit on the US against two of the most popular companies in the mobile world: Samsung and LG.

The lawsuit is related to digital-camera patents, and includes the following functionalities: image capture, compression, data storage, and preview of images in motion.

So, what does Kodak really want? Basically they want to prohibit import and sales of the Samsung and LG products that use the patents. As for what they ask in the lawsuit: unspecified damages. Classic!

    LG announces KC560 Cellphone

KC560 is the codename of the new cellphone made by LG, which is suppose to be the upgraded version of the previous model KG550.

One of details that makes this cellphone unusual is the inclusion of colored LEDs located on the bottom, and everytime there is an incoming call, those LEDs will start blinking. Additionally, the lights will blink accordingly to the music being played on the mobile phone. This can’t be considered a useful feature, so just consider it a stylish detail.

Anyhow, in terms of technical specifications, the LG KC560 boasts a 2.4-inch TFT screen, a good 3.2-megapixel camera with flash, and FM radio.

What will future phones bring us? We’ve seen Sony Ericsson’s expectations yesterday but a 20 megapixel camera is not enough. We need more hot details! Today we’re taking a look at LG Japan’s Mobile Design Contest. Designs like the fbt, a phone designed to make braille text messaging available; the Tap, a phone similar to a light switch; and the winner, Planet Phone which you can see in the picture here. It’s surface is round and it’s dotted with LEDs shic represent the friends you have. The more you talk with some people the more centered the light marking that person. The more you ignore your ex girlfriends the farther away from the center the light gets.
