3D is making its way into mobile phones and 3M is making sure that handheld device users will not be left behind. 3M unveils a newly developed product called the 3D optical film for handheld devices which helps enable 3D viewing on mobile phones, gaming and other related handheld gadgets without the need for those special 3D glasses. The 3D optical film is integrated into the backlight module and requires only one LCD panel. This in turn will allow the mobile device with the film to run at 120MHZ refresh rate.

This new 3D optical film will be presented at the Korea Electronics Show from October 13 to 16 at the KINTEX center.

Toshiba unveils another marquee laptop under its wing the unveiling of the Toshiba Satellite U505. The Toshiba Satellite series is something quite familiar in the mobile computing scene and this new addition promises to uphold the tradition as far as mobile computing quality is concerned.

But what perhaps makes the Toshiba Satellite U505 appealing is the price it carries despite carrying the same features that people look for in notebooks today. The Toshiba Satellite U505 are ideal for students, home and power users and is priced starting at $699.99.

Among the features of the Toshiba U505:

  • High Definition Widescreen Display
  • Cinematic ‘Edge-to-Edge’ Display
  • New Sleek Flat Keyboard with black matte finish
  • Illuminating LED Backlit Keyboard
  • Slot-loading DVD Drive
  • Touchpad with Multi-Touch Control
  • Toshiba Power-saving Eco Utility button
  • Toshiba PC Health Monitor
  • Hard Drive Impact Sensor
  • Of course you can expect more features to be discovered along the way. But if there is something you have to consider about the Toshiba Satellite U505, it has to be the track record that they have left behind, something that Toshiba has carried for quite some time now.
